Exchange Rate

Anyone follow the market and keepin an eye on the currency rate like myself? I remember Gypsy used to adjust the rates for currency fluctuations when id check out the prices. If I recall DR Chronic used to do it as well. Now, when I look at the current banks nobody is adjusting for the rapid drop in the Euro. Anyone have any opinions on it? Not a debate, :bigjoint: just a discussion.

The dollar is almost equal to the euro right now. Great for seed prices.
I dont see much movement on the seed companies prices unless Im not looking very carefully. How bout yourself? Do you see price adjustments at other banks?

It adjusts accordingly, some places charge the same amount of euros as they charge dollars so the europeans get screwed on that one :P. But for right now we are pretty even so it shouldn't seem like much a difference between prices.

Just buy from your country and you are likely to get a lower price, I go with NGR now for murica and some packs are only 45-60 bucks. I will take that any day :P.

If anything, I've noticed seed banks raising their prices, by more than 10% on some brands over at Seedsman. That's why I'm going to do as Sir Arthur mentioned and that's start buying from American sources, i.e. clones and places like NGR or dispensaries for beans. I don't mind European companies, and have for years been grateful for their bounty of seeds they send, but I'm taking steps to move in a fashion that helps support our own economy.

Cause damn Obama gave all our money to Islam, America needs us more now than ever....... Sorry, I'm stoned and I'm a "tree hugging liberal" so that was a joke, albeit a weak one.

I guess they are trying to squeeze or hang on to profit margin as the dollar increases. I can only assume this is why the prices are increasing. Like you, ive sent quite a few dollars overseas over the years. I wish some american companies carried more choices so I wouldnt have to shop overseas.

I would think Sannies would be a good example of this. I bought some Eskobar seeds in the past that cost about 35 dollars a pack. They are now about 23 dollars because of the exchange rate. Add in the 20% discount for sending cash, and it is a great deal. Mr nice auctions are also much cheaper now with the exchange rate. Seedsman jacked up its prices earlier this month, but I got some great deals before they did. A pack of Karma for $45.

It isn't having a lot of effect on most seedbanks since they are located in the UK, but if you order from a Spanish or Dutch seedbank deals are to be had. If you don't like the prices you see at attitude or herbies, try checking out the breeder's website. You may be able to order direct from the breeder rather cheaply.

For sure, that's when I picked up two packs of sin city's tangerine power for $74 a pack, at the same time Bodhi's seeds were only $66. I would have scored some bodhi but didn't really have anything in stock that I wanted. Now bodhi seeds are like $80 a pack now!

Yeah, there was a lot more I would have liked to pick up. I chose a poor time to be broke. I did drop two sssdh x jack last night before I went to work, so hopefully they will sprout soon.
