Espoma

Anyone using Espoma plant tone organic? If so how do you like it any downfalls or added things I need to know before using it.

a buddy of mine swears by that stuff. The issue is you need to let it "cook" before using it. the food isnt readily available. Mix it with your soil, keep it damp, and use it in 45-60 days. Only use water though, that stuff should have everything you need minus active microbes

Espoma is ok Actually but honestly id recommend Dyna Gro or Soul Synthetics , biobizz and advanced nutrients are stellar as well

Thanks NEBG I will look into those lines as well. I already started my seeds in a mix of promix, vermiculite, and perlite with a little added lime and a little of the Espoma organic plant tone. They have just broke ground and may need to make some changes on the transplant.

Most bottled "organic" nutes are just ionized mineral salts derived from sources that can pass OMRI certification. They have all the same problems that come with synthetic nutrients as well as some problems unique to their sourcing.

If you want to go organic, go all the way IMO. Feed the grow medium, not the plant.

Yeah, i trying to reply to the guy who said that the bottled OMRI certifieds are better. That may be the case, but they aren't really organic - at least not in the way that organic fanatics view organic gardening.

It works great. I mix about 1 tablespoon per 2 gallons of medium a few weeks before planting into it. This carries most plants for a month give or take. So I just top dress the pot(I usually grow in 3 gal containers)with a tablespoon or so each month during the grow. That all it takes. It does contain all the microbes you medium needs.
