Energy ads

For months now I have been seeing competing ads on cable for coal and natural gas. Who are these ads for? The campaigns are big ones..several ads an hour most of the time. Do they think you and I are going to call our reps and demand legislation in their favor? It isn't like we have much choice whether our power plants use one or the other. Not in the short term anyway. So, I just don't get the purpose of and who is the target for these ads.

You have the ability to choose which rip off you buy when you pay your bill! If you want green power and are willing to pay the extra then your power co. purchaces some through them.......for what it's worth. jack

Yeah, I know about that. But that can't be the purpose of these ads. It's constant, natural gas vs. "clean" coal.

I'm same area thought that was it! Can't see who else they would target! plying votes maybe trying to get sympathy as they jack up our bills...let me know if you find out anything my friend! Go B's

i'm in the same area and see the ads and i think the whole thing is a pain in the ass. the website for my utility company looks like it was designed by a 5 year old and is not at all user friendly. even if i see a list of "suppliers" it does not tell me what kind of energy it is. there's nothing but complicated tables and mentions of contracts and all sorts of other whatnot. it's as if they are purposely trying to get me to say "fuck it."

That's cause they want to pick the power they buy so they can make the most they can and don't give a rat's ass about what we wan't my brother! People or the enviroment arn't on the profit loss statement. They are trying to push the coal as clean energy with scrubber's on the stack's and shit...the power plant in beverly ma. spew's ash all over the boat's at the marina's and coal dust from the loading process! I have seen it, on the other hand I have a son in Kentucky and their economy is coal coal coal.......They don't tell you the truth so how can we make an informed decision anyway? use the money from all these add's to reduce what we pay and quit trying to smooze us with bullshit! jack boston ma.
