Dear Mr. (Edited Out),

Thank you for your email and for enlightening us on the extent of the misinformation out there!

We are continuing to prepare this court challenge to the MMPR on behalf of those permit holders under the MMAR who had personal production licenses and a limited form of designated growers/caregiver.

We have reviewed the law and have gone through thousands of victim impact statements and have come up with 15 representative plaintiffs from across the country on our short list. We continue to receive victim impact statements and continue to review them as persons who are not plaintiffs could still be witnesses. We have also reviewed potential expert witnesses and are in the process of drafting pleadings. This is a mammoth undertaking. No action has been started yet. So there are no scheduled court dates.

Not sure how anybody got the idea that there was a September 30[SUP]th[/SUP] Court date! Do you know where it was and in which court? One can hardly fail to show up for a nonexistent date at a nonexistent place in a non-existent court if no action has been commenced yet!

We simply said that we hoped to file the action, on or before September 30, which was the date when ATP holders will no longer be able to amend their existing licenses and others will no longer be able to apply under the MMAR. How that became a court date that we missed escapes me! The removal of personal production licenses does not occur until March 31, 2014, which is what this fight is all about.

As for the money we have approximately $35,000 in trust and have spent more lawyer time and incurred more law firm expenses on the matter to date, than that. We have not billed a penny of those funds for fees or expenses for the law firm, though quite lawfully entitled to do so in the circumstances. The only expenditures from monies in trust to date has been on behalf of the coalition for some of their printing expenses in the early days.

It is going to cost, as originally estimated, a lot more than $35,000 to conduct this lawsuit against the federal government on behalf of patients from across the country. There are apparently 35,000 patients out there, of which approximately 27,000 are growing for themselves. Currently we have less than a dollar per patient raised. $5-$10 per patient, or from those who can afford that per month and we may raise enough money.

Perhaps you could straighten out the Internet chat groups, and let us know if we should send something to them. We are in the process of updating a statement on our webpage, and we recommend that you advise people to check that source and to rely on that source and no other in the future.

Thank you for your donation on January XX, 2013.

We keep records of all financial transactions and especially monies “ in trust" in accordance with the Law Society of British Columbia requirements and under the Legal Professions Act(BC). Our books and records are subject to trust account auditing by the Law Society.

Guys & Gals,

I won't suggest that you haven't heard about the new medical marijuana program but I am curious if everyone here has heard about Harpers new 1.3 Billion dollar medical marijuana corporate business plan? Can I assume that you have? The time is now for your financial support. You've heard it straight from the constitutional lawyer himself. Would those that have not yet donated to the cause please make the effort to send in whatever they can afford to send in? Doesn't matter if it's five bucks or five thousand. Nudge others to do the same. Otherwise you know what's coming. You're supposed to have balls Canada. Balls means standing up and fighting about something you believe in. Please continue to send in money. The address for John Conroy is above. Go ahead and write your name - heck, sound off waving a hockey stick and smoking a joint! Let's hear you tell us that you did something right here, below this little blurb of mine. Show the passion, the spirit, and the determination to carry this court challenge to its end. Who's willing to help us start the game? It's game on! :-)
