I am needing to go past the 200 amps in my current location. This math seems pretty simple to me so i dont understand what the power company is telling me.

Running at 240v right now i have 28 (1k watt) lights + air conditioning and other various small things. so to keep it simple lets say that is (28000w / 240v = 117 amps.) * 1.2 (for the +20% for continuous use) = 140 amps
why is the power company telling me i am WAY over my 200 amps and will likely need to get 2 more boxes for a total of 600 amps to get to the 56 lights i want to get to.

what am i missing?

Your AC is at least a third of your lighting, at least. Plus all other loads like fans. Also your 1kW ballasts actually draw a little more than a kW.

POCO is likely concerned about their transformer. Wonder how many kva it's rated for and how many other customers are on it.

You need a solid load analysis and likely even a 400/320 continuous would be pushed past it's limits.

Consider runnin on a flip.
