Electric Sky LEDs

The electric sky has long been a peeve of mine; they have a very interesting flower spectrum based around phosphored whites, but instead peaking in 600nm like a normal 80cri led, it peaks in 660, which has peak flower response and has a fat tail towards the far red covering those hard to get at 680-700nm which are almost impossible to cover efficiently.

A couple of things though: almost no blue, this will make it harder to vegg, especially if you have low heat and not perfect environmental control. Another thing is watts: 2x300w is generally on the low side of flowering a 5x5. I would maybe add a way to add some blue and some more watts to the mix. OP, if you wanna DIY you could do this as an add on: if your main thing is spectrum correction id look into the bridgelux vesta strips, they have both 5000k cold white and 2700k warm white, to add during vegg and flower. About 150-200w, 6-8 strips on alu u-channel, well distributed and you should be golden.
It is easy to diy, but not the es- spectrum, those are some really special diodes....
I wont be doing any DIY lighting but definitely take what you said into consideration and really appreciate the thought out response. Thanks a ton

If you find you have problems in vegg or under low intensity another approach would simply be hanging some cold white lightbulbs around in the tent if thats more in line with your confort levels. Or just turning heat up, 81-84F should be fine

Ive never grown photos indoors. Just autos. Im saving for a 5x5 tent so i can have 2 grows going at once. Photos inside and autos outside the tent. I got the air conditioner and its installed. It was not cheap. But definitely a must have. Wondering if i can make or if they make flexible duct work that would fit a window unit. Hopefully i won't need it. But wanna be prepared. 8000btu ac in a 15x15 room should be able to cool everything inside the tent. Especially when i put the intake near the ac.

With leds its a new game, a lot of people end up adding heat. Do not go below 81F at full light intensity or you will have problems. Missing infra red heating from hps is the reason.

I installed an air conditioner 1st thing in my grow room. Our summers are brutal. 8000 or 10000k btu in a 15x15 room. The plan is 5x5 tent with photos and autos outside the tent. But an air conditioner is a must.

I sort if said that already. Apologies. Now I need quality lights. Im probably gonna stick with LEDs. California lightworks hits that spectrum you mentioned and then some. Lights are cheaper too. Also American made. Im deciding between California, electric sky and hgl

For a 5x5 you need a bit more spread than a 550 offers. The 650R is another alternative but it requires loads of hanging height.

I think for a 5x5 you need 2 lights atleast or diy something with several single boards.
Id go for 2x 350R or 2x hlg320 (if its still available), theyre both around 3 feet long and can throw light around the tent better than the smaller fixtures.

If you are set on one light go for the scorpion.

I vote against CLW, just not seen anyone reliably rave about them and again youd need several lights.
Do you have a budget?

500 bucks plus or minus a few bucks. Two lights are my eventual goal. The 650 is 849 plus 20% off is just out of my price range. If electric sky does a 20% discount their 695 light will just hit my budget. California lightworks is making more sense. 4x4 coverage (max) for 20% off 449 shipped and American made and incredible customer service. I will read about the scorpion. Is it hlg model?

For 500 its real hard to do a 5x5 unless you diy or alibaba. Or start growing in half the tent first. No real way around it. Best i could think of is 6x hlg qb96 on 3 x xlg240-h drivers. That should be close to 500 and covers the 5x5 decently. When you have the dough you could get a few more qbs for better spread if you like. The amount of diying in that is minimal, if youd be prepared to plug in and hang a hps light it would be the same level of difficulty.

The 2 CLWs will not be up for the job, not enough spread and bad symmetry, you need at least for points of light for that space.

I said my goal is to have 2 lights eventually to cover 5x5. I think i did, if not apologies. Buy one now, and another in a few months.

Idk mang, I'm at a comfortable 78 for awhile and end up at 84 by lights out. They like 78•f in my room & its sure of a hell allot more comfortable to work in. My leds have ir but only visible 730.

ES - 300's x2 is all you need. I like how they utilize the the long troffer style housing. The spectrum is nice & like Rocket said, Wouldn't be too hard to add a lil blue. The fact they don't overdue it on the 450nm gives one the opportunity to add 430+470. The x2 most crucial of the blues as will show over the next 2 years. This is the light Im gonna buy, if its discounted enough for black friday. To hit my budget they'll need to knock 20% off that 695 price tag. Luckily I found another company that impressed me. Timber. The lights are built to order here in the states, meanwell drivers. Check out the design and heat sinks. You should you tube search it too https://www.happyhydro.com/products/timber-grow-lights-model-4vl?variant=18913343963203&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=Cj0KCQiA48j9BRC-ARIsAMQu3WSWtIJvu4Ob_da8lOS2-HYXExoFcRk_fVnwZBD1ycsK71hasV3H128aAh4vEALw_wcB
