edible question

I have made butter and oil out of weed before, but as I have never grown it has always been out of dried and cured purchased weed. It may be a silly question, but as I am growing for the first time, and I know that I will be using some of the bud for making butter or oil, is it really necessary for me to wait until it is dried and cured to make butter out of it, or can I dry and cure the stuff that I want to smoke, but just take the stuff that I want to make oil with directly from the plant to the oil?

It's just the THC you want, no need for it to be cured. Growing is great for cannabutter. There is so much to use. Good luck!

You want to dry it. This will help get rid of some of the plant taste. As for cure I don't bother. But if your growing why use your buds? You will get plenty of trim to make butter. Unless yes don't smoke. Then I would say butter your buds and dry ice hash your trim. Great for candies. Also when cooking cannabis you realy don't want to go over 200-220f.
