Ecig nicotine as a natural pesticide.....

Hi everyone,

I have been thinking a bit about using a solution of nicotine used for electronic cigarettes and mixing with water. I have heard that tobacco produces nicotine to ward off pests and it would appear that it works. Has anyone got any information about if this would work? I think it has potential to be a rather effective and natural way of controlling pests.

Nicotine solution comes in many different concentrations, and is based of a Propylene Glycol OR a Vegetable Glycerin solution as a base. I feel that the VG would be the better option as it is more of a natural product.

Any input from those more in the know?

I dont know about the costs of vaporizer fluid but im quessing it's not cheap , whole leaf tobbaco can be bought for around 20$, 2.2pound . It's also very eazy to grow yourself

Soap and water spray is a very effective preventative for pests and many many many growers have been using it for years. It even kills spider mites. Just use 1-2 oz of soap like dawn(not concentrated and not a detergent) or Dr. Brohmers per gal of water. Spray the entire plant, underside of leaves, top of soil, and container right before lights go off, or like any spray you risk burning your plants. If you are pest free then applying once a week should ward off a bunch of pests. If you do see spider mites or something similar I suggest the dish soap AND need oil together applied once every 3 days, 3 times, then once a week for two weeks. No no pests are present ditch the neem and go back to just soap.

Here's where I think the nicotine spray could come in handy-as a secondary pesticide. If you always just use soap and/or neem eventually pests will build a resistance to them. It's good to switch it up once in a while. I've been using the rosemary/peppermint spray, it's not Liquid Lady Bug but it's the same thing.

I use 2-3 cigs, opened into a gal of water, with an airstone bubblin for 3 days. strain tobacco out & put in a spray bottle

I found tobacco fickle, and prone to disease.

Buy 10 ml of 35 mg natural tobacco from blackhat.com for 5.95 I whould say for one ml of liquid requires id say 5 ml of water plus the glycerin will choke them lil basturds out

Just like a little white guy around big bubba in yhe shower rooms

I was wondering about this as well. I have been fighting with spider mites for a while now. Been using the soap and water and all that. Wanna get the no pest strips but I am frequently in the area where the grow is and can not help but to be.

I vape as well. But I just don't vape I cloud chase. I was wondering about the use of vapor and nic to kill these pests. I have a 3x3x6 tent that I grow in. I can fill a room with vapor so I am sure I wouldn't have an issue filling a tent with it.

I also make my own juice. I have concentrated nic 100 mg per ml so I can make any strength.

Wonder if I could rig up a bladder and fill a bladder with vapor and push it in the tent for sit for an hour or 2. Vapor hangs in the are as long as there is no air movement. Thinking I could mix up some 48mg juice not inhale and either use the bladder or just keep pushing vapor in the tent.

I know nic is use commercially for a pesticide and I know it works.

Anyone else have any thoughts? This it may work. Vaor looks like fog floating down a street if you have enough of it. and it does hang in the air. thoughts?
