Ebb & Gro System Questions

I have an 8' x 11' grow room and I'm seriously thinking about investing in one of these ebb & gro systems. I'm going to be running 4 1000w HID lights. I'll be cooling with a 32000 btu window A/C and the room will be co2 enriched. Will the window A/C defeat the purpose of using co2? My goal is to get 1 pound/plant. I'll veg for 6 weeks or so. Think it's possible to get the yield I'm looking for? Should I use the 2 gallon buckets that come with the system or should I use 5 gallon buckets instead? Thanks for your thoughts and advice!

one more question. does anyone use GH Flora series nutes in the 55 gallon reservoir? Can you tell me how much of each Flora product you add to the res during the different stages of growth?

I dont really think a pound a plant with six weeks veg would be a realistic goal, especially if you plan on all of the buckets .yield per plant doesn't really matter..you want to focus more on yield per kw hour or per light..more realistically youll get around 2lbs/light if you do things right.little more would be possible but unlikely unless you've got a real vigorous strain and ypure setup is really dialed in..http://thegardendepotinc.com/viewproduct.php?product_id=709 is the cheapest place for thpse..their websites sucks though so the phone or makin a commute is the way to go

Thanks for the great info! I'm going to be using this system to grow trees. So 1 gram/watt of light is a very realistic goal if everything is dialed in right, correct? Would a window A/C remove the co2 from the air? Would a portable A/C be the way to go when using co2? Thanks again! +rep!

I don't use co2 myself, I would like to as it increases yield and allows you to run higher temperatures, but don't have the necessary equipment or environmental controllers to do it right. You can probably find a lot of helpful info in the grow FAQs on the top right of the website. theres a lot of things you need to do to run co2 efficiently..and I'm nowhere close to an expert, especially with co2 or hydro but you at least need a near airtight growroom slightly higher temps thermostats, co2 sensors etc..probably a higher ppm of nutes etc.gl

as for the goal I would say it is realistic, but don't be discouraged if you don't hit it the first time or two you need experience with the same strains to get it dialed in just right for that strain for example some strains will like it at a certain ppm and dosage of nutes, and another might burn or and another might become deficient, then once you find where theyre doing okay you can try to push it if you want and see how much higher you can go, some are hogs and will eat it up while others(maybe even most) will burn/lockout not to mention the other hundred factors that affect growth

one more thing the strain will make a big difference in yield if you know the basics of what a plant needs and what type of envitonment etc. the main thing will be the genetics, a few some won't come close to a g/watt and others will take a lot of dialing in to reach it.
