ebb and flow question

can i use soil for a grow medium in an ebb and flow system. i use cloth pots and was wondering if it would work out.

No. when the water drains it would take pieces of the soil with it. And i don't think the soil would like getting that saturated with water, it holds water for days. ebb and flow needs to be able to fill and drain.

No. your medium needs to drain quickly.soil holds water for a longer period of time.Use perlite or clay pebbles

i clone is a soil medium i use root shooters can i go from that type of cloning to a perlite medium or may b take a rooted clone i have and rise the soil off?

I use rapid rooter when i do my cloning.They're made up from composted tree bark.They kind of look like little sponges.I root my clones in those and then transplant them into 5 inch net pots filled with hydroten clay pebbles(you can get them at ant hydro store) and i then place the pots into my aero system.For ebb & flow systems you can use too.Perlite is perlite which is good too.You can get that at Lowes or Home depot
