Title says it all really

Building my next growdrobe and wondering if I could get away with 2 shelves doubling my flower area

What would be the minimum hight for flower area

Will be growing perpetual sog going for max yield

Love me some haze

I'd say 900 is enough if you're crafty enough but haze is probably one of the worst strains to grow in limited height isn't it? I thought that stuff stretches like crazy? Never grown it myself though so I'm just going off what I've read.

think mitch is meaning ppfd?
for hanging height, get a A/B type driver, or B if a CC a driver fits to you.
Then you can dim by demand, A type dont go below 50% and "just" dim over current, not PWM.

lol no I meant 900mm or 3' high.. I've personally grown in that height with a 250w hps that's why I say it should be possible with a strip build..
Hey what's the benefit of PWM dimming? All I know is that it stands for pulse width modulation but have no idea what that means..
Also my A-type ELG-150 can go down to 50w and up to 175w from the wall, can you tell me why this is? Something to do with being on 220v?

Yeah I understood u ment 90cm

The elg is a great optionive got a 240 B version (coz I fucked the screw in the last a version I had and just don’t wanna go there)

Oh and if u have 90 with an hps I’m totally not worried cheers

If you run them soft enough you can basically have them right above the plants. People telling you that they have to be 2 feet away have either never used them or run them hard. Running them hard is a good option imo for a normal room but in your case you would want to run them at like 500mA and you could keep them right on top if the plants.

Do your own research.

Yep, klx knows whats up.

My strips can basically be laid on top of my plants without issue to the plants. only issue would be the led themselves. after stretch last run they were set at 2-3" above my tops with a 70-80000 lux reading across the canopy.

Run them soft and height isnt something to concern yourself with nearly as much, run them hard and you def need the height.

My single row h-influx l09 strips run at about 2-4inches in late flowering and im running to shelves in a cabinet 100cm height per level, you just have to keep a good eye on the plants for a grow or two.
So the cab is 8ft high x 2.5ft deep x 4.8ft long running to levels. I have just harvested a single plant that was in a 2.4ft x 2.4ft scrog screen on one side of the cabinet and comes in at 11 ounces so far, I still haven't chopped it all yet and the plant on the other side should yield more as the buds ar heavier. Total power in the end was 320 watts at the wall. 850-950 ppfd.

The vertical hung lights on the bottom area is a test run with them configured like that.
8 inch extractor and carbon filter are mounted externally in a lung box in my loft and vents out into another room for recovering the heat and heating the room.

I'm becoming a big fan of yours also zypheruk, I love your imagination and ability to divert from the status quo. You also produce some top quality nugs and some of the best photo's I've seen to date. This will probably be the first and only time I kiss your ass like this though.
Just gotta give credit where credit's due you know..

Allright! while 900 ppfd is a nice number too lol.
youre right with pulse widh, he switches on/of i a fast pace and and not just lower the current.

To my view the meanwell sense the resistance of the 100k pot and set its duty cycle accrodingly.

For the ELG Driver idk on on the quick, the datasheet says 100-XXX VDC, but i read this also several times, not recommended @ 120V.
@Rocket Soul whats up with the ELG´s on 120V?

Hey thank you for the explanation man, sorry I meant to say I'm on 240v at the wall.. but no worry I was just a little curious as to why I could go below halfway but I already knew a-type drivers were able to go over their rated current that's why I got it, and because I had no need for the remote dimming.. I may get b-type for my next light though..

Elg at 120v get quite a down rating, 15% -20% less power if i recall correct. I thinknits in the datasheet

The pwm: im not sure youre right, i remember someone talking about this saying the meanies interprets the pwm signal and changes amps accordingly. Maybe it was greengene? Id ask teknik hes knowledgeable.

Im really not sure. But it would probably take some efficiency away from the dimming
