easyest way to make hash

ok this is my first grow im not ready to harvest but i want to know what to do with the triming when i am.

So whats the easyest way to make hash or something with what i have in the house?

easiest and fastest methods i have found are to: put ground up bud/trim into a blender, fill blender 2/3 with bud 1/3 with water and toss in 5 ice cubes. set blender to chop and do this for 10-15 minutes in spurts. once this is done, let settle for 30 minutes and strain out bud/trim, and use a coffee filter to strain the water. once the coffee filter is dry you can scrape off the hash from the filter
edit: you get much more higher quality hash with this method, but you lose out on quantity.

second method is too put ground up bud/trim inside a mason jar, fill with 91% rubbing alcohol with water as an inactive ingredient. shake and swirl around for like 30 seconds, strain into a pyrex glass baking pan or any square dish. then either let it evaporate over 48 hours or fill a pot with an inch and a half of water and put on high. once the water has begun boiling, place the glass dish or square dish ontop of the boiling water pot, and let evaporate over 20 minutes. allow for good ventilation when doing the double-boiler method, rubbing alcohol fumes are deadly. once the liquid has evaporated, you should be left with either a brown or black resin looking substance, place in freezer for 15 minutes and then scrape with a razor.

with this method you can get high quality hash as long as you dont let the plant material sit in the rubbing alcohol for too long.

i got a question in regard to your extraction method using isopropynol...
i used isoprop just like you my last grow, i bascailly juust took a pasta pot, ground up all my shit or at least broke it up into smaller peices, and let it sit in the alcohol covered so as not to evaporate, for almost a week...then i boiled it off, so your saying letting it sit in the alcohol longer will lead to an inferior product as opposed to letting it sit in the alcohol for a short amount of time? i would have thought longer time in teh solvent would allow for graeter THC absorption into the alcohol and thus a higher quality product...any other opinions on this?

using rubing alcohol makes me nervous but if it works i might give it a try my plant is 3 feet high so im sure i will have enough trimmings/ popcorn nugs

wait how much water to how much alcohol? and if i just let it sit in a dark room insead of double boiling it would that work

Heres something you can do with all the trimmings. I highly suggest this method.. as it's the easiest and takes little time to complete. The longest part.. is waiting for the alcohol to completely evaporate.. thus leaving nothing left but lovely smokeable hash.

Here's ya go..

Just read the directions.. and follow each step to the 't'.. and you'll soon have your own stash of some killa hash!

Ignore the above blender/water method.


- Get a black and decker coffee grinder and put a bud or two in -- spin for 10 seconds. You will notice CRAZY amount of keif in the lid.

- Bang lid on a table and gather kief, press into hash.





----

Also the above (ISO hash) method is much faster if you use a pure-filtered Butane and a tube with a hole on one end and a screen on the other, rather then soaking the buds in alcohol

i was thinking about this earlier, if you took 93% isopropyl alcohol, commonly available in stores...then performed either of the following to remove the 7% water:
1) freeze it, alcohols freezing point is extremely low, and id think that its possible to seperate the water out because it would solidify...true or not that might remove some water
2) run the alcohol through a coffee filter filled with epsom salt or any type of salt which would hypothetically absorb the water leaving a more pure solution of alcohol.

I figure both of these together must remove some water from the 93% isopropyl...and there both cheap and easy, isopropyl def costs less by volume than butane...anyone have any expertise in this or tried purifying isopropyl?

Dude for real the simplest way without losing much yeild. Just grind the shit in ye old grinder once don't multiple grind because you will get more plant material less trichomes. Just grind n grind til you got enough to satisfy your needs then all you need is wax paper a knife(i use multi-tool) and your fingers. You just place all the trichomes (keif) on a square and fold it in half where you placed the trichs compress with your fingers intensely as hard as you can for like a minute until it seems to be one connected chunk. Slip the blade of the knife under the compressed keif and fold it in half compress again and repeat until you can't fold it in half any more. Then take it out of the wax paper and you just keep compressing with your bare fingers until its nice and black and hard as a rock. Its ready to smoke immediatly. I do it all the time gets me very stoned.

oh yeah I'm really high I forgot you were using trim leaves.

Just take all trim leaves and put them on a window screen over a plastic lid plate or anything that you can get it off of and just shake and pat it til all the trichs come off and use the above method should work all the same.

or fuck dude boil all the trim in some butter.:weed:

jokerjocko: with the water to rubbing alcohol ratio question: just grab a regular bottle of 91% iso rubbing alcohol and look at the label and only purchase if water is the only inactive ingredient.

i use 93% isopropyl alcohol, with the remaining 7% inactive ingredients being water... ive thought about distilling out some of the water as well to furhter purify it, ill let u know if that works out... as to the plant material and carcinogens problem, when ive made it before, as i boil my alcohol/oil mix, i notice that after the alcohol is boiling off, the smell of the vapor switches from alcohol to a clorophyl plant material smell, this is the little bit of water that is in the isopropyl boiling out; the boiling point of THC is vastly higher than water or alcohol so i kind of figured the plant material would have been abosrbed into the water and thats why i can smell the clorophyl/plant smell as the water vapors boil off...honestly tho, ill take your expertise cuz i really don't know whether clorphyll and watever carcinogens are in the plant are water soluble, or alcohol soluble, and wat their boiling points are; assuming none of their boiling points are as high as THC 157 °C (315 °F) then wouldn't everything boil off except the THC leaving only the oils you want? i dunno not tryna argue i was just kind of curious if anybody know the chemsitry behind all this

oh I had no idea you were boiling it all in the same pot, i usually fill a large pot 1/3 with water and bring it to a boil, then I place a dish on top of the large pot and fill it with the iso alcohol + bud/trim. this allows it to evaporate alcohol and water quickly without losing thc.

Is it possible to use male plant material to make hash? Or at least some cannabuter? Or is the male plant just garbage with no uses other than makin seeds? HB
