They are the dogs nuts guys !! Don't even dream of hanging your lights wether they be cfl, enviros, MH or HPS on anything other than these babies  No on a serious note guys they are a must have.

I don't use a cool tube and my fixture is heavier on one side... The side where the light is hanging is staying there no prob but the other side is as light as a feather so it just rolls back up when I tighten the butterfly nut. Someone have a suggestion maybe?? Just got them today and its driving me crazy :wall:

Maybe put some kind of weight on top of the lighter end of your reflector, some kind of small piece of metal superglued to the top so it doesnt fall off and land on one of your plants??

Or, if you use them upside down like me (or the right way if thats how theyre meant to be lol) then you can get a handfull of nuts
(not literally, the type that screw onto bolts lol) and slide them down the string so they sit on the roller itself where the string coils back into the roller, i would imagine half a dozen maybe more, 10mm thread size nuts would be weighty enough to stop it from recoiling back, cheep, cheerful n easy ;-)

lol thanks Chazel, yea once youve been using easy rolls youl never go back to chains or ropes or whatever, iv even started using them to hang my clip on fans now, i just hang the roller upside down as normal from the top bars of my tent, and clamp the fan onto the roller itself, then the fans are easily moved up as the plants grow, keep a breeze blowing over the tops.

I didnt get a pack of hoops with mine no, but i did get two screw in eyehooks, i can only assume that they are provided to screw into a ceiling and tie the string onto, suggesting that they are meant to be used upside down.

And as for the knots, i just used about 25 normal knots ontop of one another, and im not using a cooltube anymore, im using a much larger air cooled reflector now which weighs easily 10x the weight of the cooltube and the easy rollers cope with it fine and my knots havnt moved a millimeter ;-)

I just finished putting on a hinge on it as a counter weight, decided to put it on the underside of the fixture so it looks nicer and fastened it with a bolt that goes trough so I`m sure it`ll stay there. Almost did the super glue thing but decided to go with this instead because I was concerned that the super glue might not work in extreme heat.

-Thx for the tip about the counter-weight

I feel your vain! I am thinking the same thing. Is it obvious or am I just stupid, LOL. I'm pretty mechanical and I don't get it!

Constructed an entire grow room and for the life of me I still can't figure out these fuckin' yo-yo's! I've tried hanging them both ways and still they won't stay down. Seems like one was, but the other just kept wanting to retract. Also, they only extend like 2ft., shouldn't they extend further??

Screw it! Did it old school...w/chains. Much much better. Didn't feel like loading a pile of weight on the top of the light just to get these bastards working.

i did the same thing cant seem to keep the lights down ware i need them
so i went back to the chains.

I'm using these upside down in my new 4x4 tent with excellent results. I found the little metal hooks on the back of some little suction cups like for a glass window, meant to hang something on apparently. A typical S hook would work better.
