my tap water is a little hard, so i mix a gallon of tap with a gallon of walmart distilled water. the ph of the bottled water is neutral and my tap water is really alkaline. but after i mix the nutes, a lot of time i don't have to adjust the ph at all. the cost of bottled water really adds up though. im planning on getting a reverse osmosis maching soon.

Some people are really buggin.. i said that is was costly... but you got to choose what you want to spend your money on.. and i am sorry if all your bottled water isnt good ph but mine is 6.3.... just relax with all that negative shitt..

I normally buy bottled water with a pH of 6.8 and I'm thinking of using that from now on.. my baby have a bit of nute burn at the moment..would this help with the pH or make it worse??

bottle water aint always teh best, you may think its pure, but tehy usualy distil it, re oxidize it and add salts and shit to it.

I have well water were i live, for growing i use it before i put the softener in it. (salt)

Any water that you buy MAY be perfect one day and have a wildly different PH the next. What is the perfect PH of water anyways? The key is what is the ph after nutes, which is the only number that really matters. The initial PH of the water is meaningless unless you don't give your plants nutes or Superthrive or anything.

Instead of guessing and hoping just buy a ph meter. Problem solved. Granted 95% of the "MY PLANT IS DYING" threads would go away and RIU would become a vast wasteland of healthy plants, but that isn't my problem.

First off bottled water is just tap water that myth that companies go out and find springs of spring water have been de-bunked years ago, do a little research and see. Second yeah perfect ph is 7.0 for the human body. If you find water and RO water to be much lower it is a flaw. Companies are selling this to people for human consumption and that is where their profits is. It really only matters for the hydro grower to have a good ph after mix. Also for humans a ph under 5.0 can be very harmfull.

my wife just bought a britta and our tap water is normally 7.8 or higher ( my ph kit only reads up to 7.8) and after running it through the britta i immedeatly ph'd it and it was 6.4. screw bottled water buy a britta:mrgreen: even if your not using it to grow

LOL my last 4 posts are: Check Your PH.

I always check my water before hand and then add nutes. you can also buy a reverse osmosis filter.... here ya go problem solved! Bottled water or not you should always ph your water first...

Brita takes some minerals for growing out of the water. Anything other than pure water won't work. All these so called energy and health water have things done to them to make them no good to the grower. Especially health waters!

I see a lot of people saying they check the PH of there water adjust PH and then adding the Nutes, you should add nutes and then check your PH and adjust.....if I check the PH of my water it is usally about 7.2 before I add nutes and after it is about 4.8 - 5.2, that's when I adjust it to 6.5 - 6.8, then I feed the plants with it, If I did it the way some of you are saying I would be feeding my plants an acidic nutrient solution, not only that it would be more acidic then had I not adjusted it before adding nutes, because I would have adjusted it to 6.5 - 6.8 then added my nutes dropping it down even further to like 4.4 - 4.8...not good

add nutes to your water then adjust PH, except when you are using water only, between feedings or during flushing etc.....

I see your point, and used to do that too, until I started getting inaccurate readings(liquid test) soon after the plants started to lockout I started checking the water first, got my ph correct first then added nutes. All went well, even picked up a ph pen and dropped the liquid. My ph didint drop when I added nutes, so I stayed with the same procedure, ever since I have never had a single problem with PH.

What nutes are you using.... I was using GH at the time.
