Easy Bake Oven Method?

i was wondering if anyone that has dried their buds in an oven can answer this for me. when you dry in the oven do you skip that weird hay smell and go straight to dankness, or do you lose smell altogether doing that? this slow drying hay smell upsets me every time i open the jar. :sad:

the hay smell will go away if u havent all ready dried it out TO much. Give it a month or more to cure.... you waited all the months for it to grow so chill out.

and please take that easy bake oven and move it as far as you can from any buds please

not yet i let them hang for three days and now they're in a jar but im not really willing to wait a month. im thinking more like two weeks

Are you sure you are curing correctly?
You only dried for 3 days? That's about half the drying time of a normal harvest dry.
Your bud could be too moist to go into jars, if you have too high of an RH it can cause mold in the jars.

Usually hay smell is an indicator of that.

my RH is 40 to 50. after three days it seemed like they might be drying too fast so i put them in jars.
So should i let them sit out for a few more days?

Curing normally begins at about 65% RH and stops at 55%.
If your buds were bone dry when you put them in the curing jars, nothing can change that now and curing has been lost.
You can add moisture to them again (fruit peel for example), but the curing process cannot be saved.

no they aren't bone dry they stems are still bendy and they are still kind of sticky. i have them out in the open now so should they be in a jar then?

Alright, well stems should still be bendy.
It's hard for me to say when I don't know what the RH inside the jars are (when buds are in them), if you can measure this you'll get a hint of wether further curing will help.

shit, my thermometer won't fit in the jar and i dont have anything smaller. i guess i'll just have to deal with what i've got so far. i appreciate the help very much. i still have one more plant to harvest this weekend. any tips to not screw that one up would be greatly appreciated.
