Growing in Southern East Coast.

When does everyone like to get their plants outside?

I'll start um inside a month ahead of time to get them going of course.

Would March 20th be ok?

Depends on how far south you are. I think march 20th might be a bit too early. I would look closer to a week or two after easter

Usually after your last frost, but if you start them indoors they might be able to withstand the cold weather. Should it come!

Depends how far south. Virginia is considered southern US, so is Florida. The planting season differs by about a month between.

Usually after last frost works. I shoot for early to mid April. Hope that helps.

Farmers stuff states last frost to be around Feb 19th around here. I'm in South Carolina. So that's pretty far south.

I'm thinking if I have them 1 month old, then put them out around March 20th they should be fine.

Thoughts?

I'm just a little further north ... not much though.

I plan on putting outside in mid April. I'm kinda paranoid about losing them to frost though.

Are you sure SC claims last frost date Feb 19th? That's kinda early, isn't it?

Sounds about right to me. Lucky to get a frost here.

april and may r the best i find. I had friends that started inside in jan. and moved outside after the last frost. I start some plants on the first of july one year and the finished still at the end of sept early mid oct. So to each his own, but i guess it does depend on the strain and all that just remember get early strains.

I'm curious how late is the latest someone would plant outdoor seeds to keep them from getting towering tall. Let's say in the DC area.
