Nah, that guy said a whole week he left them off man. You should be fine..... So how come those fucks haven't moved to underground power, so that the lights don't go out during storms? I'd write ur congressman a letter man.
Give them the money and they'll do it. I mean its not like the United States is in debt or anything

You don't have to put them "outside" just get them in the light. Take them out of your grow room and put them by a window or somewhere that gets some natural daylight. If they go into flower it's no biggy because it's better than them dying. Plenty of people grow 12/12 from seed. When power comes back you can either take the time to re-veg them or just continue with flowering.

Lost power for 9 days in Irene last year. Panic mode for all the local news stations this time though.

Stocked up on water and dutches. I'm good.

I had veg plants and was 4 weeks into flower when we lost power for 5 days in the hurricane of sept 2011. The flowering plants were fine and finished close to the same time as normal. I put the veg plants directly into flower but they had not shown sex yet and they did not skip a beat.

I have a grow one week into flower now and a Cloner full of clones. I'm leaving the flowering plants in the dark like last time and I'm going to float the clones in water and hope for the best with the clones. I know the flowering plants will be ok just worried about the cuttings..

Good luck to everyone..

I'm on the east coast... We got this damn hurricane coming. I got a few questions and concerns but lets start with the biggest, What do I (or anyone else), do if the power goes out for an extended amount of time? Please don't say "go buy a generator", there ain't any left. Please don't say "just put them outside under sun", it's far too cold where I am and I got some nosey neighbors.

Honestly, I don't know what to do??? I know it wouldn't be the end of the world if the ladies got an extra dark cycle or two, but after day 2 or 3 of darkness, I know they would suffer and die. I can't count on my utility company to get my power back on within 2 or 3 days, if or when it goes out.

I wish I knew someone to take care of them, but everyone I know will most likely lose power too... There is no easy solution.

Help me out, suggest something I haven't thought of.
We had a close call here(Tx) a few weeks back and I thought I would use my truck with my ac adapter(1000w) plugged into my cfl fixture(115w=500w). This would work for me:).I ran my fridge and t.v. during other power outtages.I don't know your exact situation but this is what I would do.GL.Stay safe.Peace

Dude, I am not too far from you, a little south, but.........
Anyway, best you can do, is give them what might normally be their natural environment. No need to panic.
I had to put mine out this morning into 48-52 degre weather, for the sun (even though it was overcast) because I have been putting off for a few days going and getting some CFL's for my next grow.

if your not runing the flowering light cycle it wont go into flower

I go out of town for 4 days, once a month and leave my veg shit in the dark then start 24/7 again no issues...they do have a light green color for a day or 2 :)

There was alot of stupid shit in this thread so far. First off good luck to you man and for your ladies the best thing to think of is close to windows or a back sliding door with some light from outdoors. If they're in veg then when you do get your power back on I would run lights for 24 hrs for equal time they were in darkness to try and stop or reverse any preflowering if they are for sure in flower then nothing you can do just get ready to make the best for your buds. Make the best of your watering and nutrients make sure not to overwater keep checking your soil.

Hehe I have to laugh. I'm in the Northeast too and while most people worry about losing their heat, or say, everything in their refrigerators/freezers etc...us growers on the other hand.... :)
For the record I'm worried about it too but I know theres very little I can do about it anyway.

Maybe you can buy a bunch of flash lights or any kind of lights that run on batteries and turn them on for 12 hours everyday so at least the plant is getting some kind of light so that the natural cycle for the plant continues. I have wondered about this particular situation for sometime myself, since I have been growing indoors and never really came up with an answer. But maybe what I mentioned would work. Well it would have to be some kind of light that the plant would recognize, so the flashlight won't work. Maybe you can buy a car battery and hook up a single lamp with a couple CFL's just so the light cycle stays constant for your grow. That's the best idea that I can come up with right now while I am stoned from my wake and bake! Lol! You would probably burn your house down in the process though. Anyways good luck to you!

Nonsense, I'm gonna hold my flashlight on them.

In the same boat my brotha, what the F*ck are the chances of the NE getting a hurricane back to back years!

Growing teaches you to make lemonade out of lemons, IMPROV IS KEY!

What I did was put my ladies near a big window which is kinda sketchy cuz all my apartment neighbors can see. So what I did was put a sheet across the window a little higher than the height on my plants, that way the sunlight can still hit them at a more vertical angle. Then I arranged them so they all get the most light possible. Then go outside and make sure you cant see them from where ever your neighbors maybe looking from.

You'll notice that during the day the window acts like a one way mirror, where you cant really see inside a dark room from the outside. However be careful cuz the opposite is true, if its dark outside and light inside you can see everything from the outside, so be caution using flash lights. At night cover the window completely if you plan on using flash lights inside cuz light attracts the eye.

Im a little worried about the temperature as well cuz its suppose to get in the 30's this week, but marijuana is a STRONG plant. It will go through stress but will bounce back in time.

Happy Growing and Best of Luck! and lets hope for the both of us that we dont get another freak blizzard this year as well.

Just got my power back. Ran to get my ladies back under the hps. Not sure if the window sill did anything for them or not but they look healthy as ever after 3 days of cloudy light.

Good luck to everyone else who is still suffering.
