:leaf: Hey there fellow growers,
I have a question about the EJ ph down....
Ok the ph on my soil is around 7.8 and 8 which is pretty high and my tap water is at 8
and i noticed my girls are growing slow so i figured its the nute lockout
I went down to the hydro store got some EJ ph down since i hear good stuff from it all the time and im trying to go organic... anyways to the point of the question how often should i use the ph down? every water or every other? and i used it yesterday brought the water to about 6.0 in a gallon cont. used it to water all my girls ( 2 plants in 5 gal conts 2 in 4 gal conts and 2 in the 6" conts) it brought the soil to like 7.2 but came back up this morning to about 7.8.... any help would be great and a thank you ahead of time.

purple kush and chem dawg in 5 gal conts each
white widow and cherry ak in 4 gal conts each
chem dawg and sour diesel in 6" conts each
growing in greenhouse
STAY HIGH!!!!:eyesmoke:

i read if you mix one cup of urine with a gallon of water that it will bring your ph down. i'd try it if i had your problem.

It will reduce pH because there's ammonia in it. Same reason it makes a good detergent for clothes. Can't say I'd recommend it though when you can buy something more effective and with fewer salts in it for pittance. Ammonia and ammonium are two different things also, though I forget which is easier for bacteria to turn into useful material (into nitrites then into nitrates then into your plant).

With regards your question ppuffpass - a lot of nutrients will lower pH as well and you can use that to your advantage. Particularly vegetative nutrients with their ammonium phosphates (and incidentally sometimes urea - also in your piss). I use a mixture of iron sulfate and choice of nutrients to keep my pH where I want it. I'm not sure how much of that EJ pH down you can use before it's detrimental, but just keep at the routine and it'll get there.
