Earth is 9,000 years old, says Rep. Paul Broun, who sits on House Science Committee

So 9000 years old you say? Jewish Zombie absorbing the power of your adoration? Talking schnakes, burning bushes and sky daddies you say?

We need an ambulance to a suitable facility for people who genuinely believe that sorta monumental level of horse crap.

Most people in the world believe in god. Thats a problem for people who embrace top down authoritarian government. For Obama, hes the begining and the end. The Alpha and Omega. B.O can't have something like the bible get in the way of his influence. Its in his play book "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinski

it is dishonest to manipulate science when you dont believe in it, but i guess

to look at it glass half full

the science committee would need a balancing weight to its methods . . .

and to be honest most of the women/men i have meet with science degrees of any sort were douches aka completely self absorbed

one of my scietist friends, chemisrtry graduate i think, is a great dude also a teacher

Is this the Mormon stuff?

They have to believe such things or are cast out!

Woah, Romney is a Mormon.

another ignorant and hate filled statement based on supposition and faulty guesswork.

paul broun is a goddamned baptist you dolt.

everybody who makes a statement you disagree with is not a fucking mormon you twat.

you probably never knew anything about mormons except they wear white shirts and ride bicycles before the romney-inspired mormon bashing put the LDS on your radar and in your thick sheaf of talking points.

why not conflate mormons with something really wacky, like scientology while youre at it? after all making unfounded and STUPID claims is the new democrat strategy isnt it?

ooohhh your picture has a dimwit wearing an orange shirt! Convicted Felons wear orange shirts!! YOU MUST BE POSTING FROM FOLSOM PRISON!!! i bet you are there because you raped a kitten to death. and strangled a puppy. and embezzeled from the state employee union, forcing helpless seniors to lose their retirement and making them survive on cat food!! youre worse than hitler!

I agree with most of what everyone is saying but I can tell you one thing from an atheist perspective. Never ever attack another religion no matter how foolish it is. They(and others) will turn on you like a pitbull. Our politics aren't ready for atheism yet and any politician that admit he/she is will be committing political suicide. Religion is failing slowly and atheism on the rise but I doubt anyone will see an atheist president in our life time.
no, its because your too often smug twats who try to claim they are better than everybody else because "religion is dumb".

if athiests simply said "i dont believe that shit" and left it at that then even the most ardent christian or jew would let you believe what you want (secure in their faith that you will eventually burn for it) and only mohammedans and other theocrats would demand you submit.

but instead you simply attack and insult any who have a belief that is different from your own (like the current mormon bashing which is based on half truths, slander and lies) jusat like any other religious nut who wants to be right no matter the cost.

atheism is not a religion, but many atheists sure act like it is. and not a very good one either.

also, most religions do in fact suck but islam sucks harder than any other.

the senate armed services committee is chock full of dumbasses who never served, and in fact dont know one end of a rifle from the other.

the finance and banking committee is full of morons who think the federal reserve actually gets audited

the energy subcommittee is full of dolts who think electric cars are "Pollution Free"

committee membership is not given based on qualifications. in fact most senators and congressmen only have one qualification: they are good lairs.

paul broun is a physician. he does NOT believe that twaddle, he is saying it to get the dumbass vote. paul broun could not have gotten an MD even in georgia without learning that the earth is in fact only FIVE THOUSAND YEARS OLD....

I admit curiosity about the "nine thousand" figure. The hardliners I knew preferred the canonical six thousand. Does this mean that Broun is ~gasp!~ a liberal creationist? cn

no silly. i started laughing while i was typing that shit. the last line was a joke.

truth be told mormons dont hold the 5000, 6000, or the new liberal 9000 year old earth lines either.

as i was informed in no uncertain terms "god said it took six days to make the universe, but he never said how long his days are"

but it still made more sense than the pentecostals, catholics, baptists, jehovahs witnesses, 7th day adventists etc... who all claimed a literal 144 hour creation timeframe, and a literal creation by magic. the mormon teachings i received said that evolution was the search for the means the divine used to create, and thus god was an evolutionist himself.

then i rejected all religions for years. that shit just sounded so arbitrary, so ludicrous, so daffy.
