Are there ways to sex a plant other than the 2 I know?

1 take a clone and put the clone under 12/12 light for about 10 days until it shows
2 put the whole plant under 12/12

I have these plants, unsexed.
But they look different.
2 look like a skinny christmas tree shape and 2 are bushy.
The 2 skinny xmas trees, male?

the pic.
Here are 5 plants.
far left is a femmed dogbud, so I know it is female. The unsexed ones are Blue Fire if it matters.
The 2 far right, front and back, are the skinny ones, the 2 in the middle look like the dogbud, bushy.
The right ones males?

Yeah...
I kind of thought so.
There are 2 like this and 2 not.
They are also taller, less bushy, nodes farther apart, and christmas tree shaped. The other 2- tight nodes, bush shaped, much more...compact.
50% loss is expected.

I waited a few more days, pulled 2 of them out of the grow room today.
Put the 20x loop against the phone camera, not too bad.
2 left, 1 is female and putting out those little "hairs" instead of these sacks, and 1...???

This is one of them I pulled out. The other pulled one is the same.

even we using "fem" seeds

the 2 that veg the fastest I always put into flower 1st assuming they`ll be male

I take clones just incase they are not

funny how males seem to veg a week or so growth more by week 3/4 from seed

but a mate of mine likes to grow "Bubble gummer" from female seeds, they all veg a bit like males, I never wanted to grow them cos of that, but my mate likes to do 20 to 40% of them as he says due to the big gaps between nodes he finds it a really easy strain to trim and harvest

He`s never complained about them sexing male so a few strains must veg more like "male" plants normally do

but for the most part if I had say 20 plants I`d bet by week 3 to 4 the tallest 1/2 plants would be most likely to sex male

Is that because males normally come later when the females are already growing so they grow faster or is it because the male pollen is best for seeds if the male is shooting pollen by the time the females are in week 2 of flower ?

The wife asked today if the 2 I pulled were in the flower stretch. they just looked so not like the others.
The other one I can't tell on is kinda strechy too. That...would bum me out, 3 of 4 male. Only got 5 seeds and 1 didn't pop and 3 are male.
The luck of the grow.

I prefer femed seeds for this very reason.
