Early Misty

When I first decided to grow Early Misty I looked for reviews and could not find too many. So I figure I should post about it now.

I have now have seven Early Misty plants growing outdoors. I started them in early April, and its now early September.

Ten seed were orderd from marijuana-seeds.nl. One of them showed to be a male in June, which is two months before anyone other one showed sex. Two others proved to be males in mid August.

Seven remained, I noticed three distinct types. Most were low and bushy with fat lime colored leaves. Another was short, less bushy, with dark thin leaves that had a slight curl to them. One other was tall and lanky, well over 6 feet.

The smell is getting stronger now that it is around a month of budding. It smells a little more musky and dank then other plants. Many strong white hairs pointing out from the bud sites, most plants have many bud sites even from close to the bottom.

I was disappointed when the plants failed to live up to its "bug resistant" hype. However, we did have a very cool and rainy June, which could have contributed to the bug damage. Since using a garlic spray in July, I have not noticed any significant damage by bugs.

Crystals are being packed on, hairs make up most of the bud sites while they continue to fill in. In general, bud sites look to be fluffy and not dense nugs, but I still have around 3 weeks to harvest.

After harvest I can comment more about them, hope this is helpful.

will that plant do good outdoors?
I live in scotland and yes Early misty does grow well outside but harvest time is end of October and not September as it states on seed sites. I have two in my garden at the moment one topped and the other been left to grow on its own. The topped plant is around 3 weeks behind the other in flowering but is showing a hell of alot more yeild where as the untopped plant has about another 2 weeks to harvest but only has a fraction of yeildable harvest. Iam worried though that the on coming frost will end my topped plant. Up till now both plants have handled the unpredictable Scottish weather very well.

Yeah i have some outdoors right now. The info they give on seed sites is very miss leading. It looks like it wont finish until the end of october, witch sucks because im in the northern states so its really pushing it. The leaf to bud ratio is insane the buds are filled with leaves i have never seen and plant grow like this. The buds feel like rocks so far but we have about 3 more weeks until done. It seems to be a pretty mold resistant strain.

i got the original, from Homegrown fantaseeds, and they got their moms/dads from Positronic seeds (original breeder of misty i believe) so if you want the real stuff, HGF has it. Medusa from Nirvana is the IBL they made from misty. so after i move out these girlies i got in my tents now, i'll start the misty.

from what i read, it was fruity/minty. icmag has the reports online still(some of them) but its supposed to be a dutch cash cropper strain so it probably doesn't have a strong or pungent smell.

dude my Medusa plant from Nirvana was awesome!! its supposedly a Misty back-cross, or something like that. all i know is it seems to be just like any misty strain ive seen. My medusa had the most intense indica high, for sure a couchlock smoke. my pheno was very very short and had extremely wide leaves. im sure not all are that indica, but i really enjoyed mine. It was one of the most crystal covered plants ive ever seen. excellent for bubble hash making, since it is a bit leafy too.
Misty genes are especially good for someone going thru Chemo or Radiation treatment. My medusa was one of the best medical strains ever!! any misty strain is probably awesome!! id love to see some early misty buds !!

interesting!! it happens ive chewd on sugar can in jamaica wen i was 10 haha so i can envision the earthy sugar taste. sounds good i may have to get that one next. My Early Misty seeds are in the post (i think the pure Early Misty seeds now are jjust old stock because they got stopped my Nirvana so i hope they been stored well and germ properly) anyways im gonna get some colloidal silver liquid spray and turn one of the females into a male, then pollenate another EM female to get a whole loaaaaaad of femanized Early Misty seeds for the future. So fingers crossed they all go well, i think ill prb b the only person in the world with femmed early misty lol coz i dont beleive nirvana ever released them as femmed. Im gonna have a load of fun with that colloidal silver lol

yea nirvana never released the fem's since they got their parents from hgf or someone with the cut(or they used hgf seeds) so its probably the same genetic but bred for a slightly different end result over a few generations.

Nirvana also did their own misty, and they never said anywhere that they got it from HGF, i thought nirvana have beenn around for longer too :/ from old posts on here about misty, it seems the misty got turned into the early misty, and now even the early misty is gone. check out 'nirvana misty grow' on google, it should link back to rollitup, they guys buds were MASSIVE i cant beleive they stopped it. its a shame.

yeah i jus looked on nirvanas site, they turned their misty into 'medusa' which they still run, but the early misty variation (which im guessing was an old cross of early girl and misty) came to a dead end

okay this is weird, the founder of nirvana and of home grown fantaseeds the same person ??? coz on both sites it says that the owner of each seed company used to work in the amsterdam shop 'positronics' in the late 80' early 90's. even if it is two people, its becoming clear about the misty strain, it sounds like it has the same origin, maybe just been tweaked in different ways by each breeder (if theyre even different :/ )

YO!!! hope your still around bro... that medusa was AWESOME super indica tho! it had that crazy sugar cane taste tho, u would certainly pick up on it! very hashy strain.... i feel ya about nirvanas old stock me and my bud have the old big bud x northern lights strain and the old afghan strain both from nirvana circa. 2004 hope they still have a couple keepers each we never got a female afghan yet. still have 7 of each too. i have a ton of newer nirvana strains... im trying venus flytrap now, so far in veg its a fast grower and a pretty even hybrid. good luck with that early misty!! if u find a nice resin covered one stick with that side of the phenotypes!

not sure if anyone is still around this thread, but i thought i'd share my story of early misty.
earlier this year when i was looking for some spilled hash underneath my couch in my new apartment, i found a seed bedded into the carpet, i dont know how my eyes spotted it but they did.
after planting the seed beside my holland hope babies outside, hoping it was an outdoor strain, i was eager to find out what strain this mystery seed was. after leaving it 2.5 months when the plant went into flowering i took pictures and compared it to all the outdoor plants i could find on google, then when i found similar pictures to my own baby, i looked at that strain smell and characteristics, i was 80% sure it was early misty from what i had found and now after reading this thread i can honestly say I'm 100% sure my girl is early misty.

An excellent plant for outdoors
yields a modest amount with a very strong stone.
perfect for northern European climates and definitely one of the strongest highs for outdoor plants around this region.
also a great plant for beginners.
