Hi!
this is my first post and i hope to be useful!

I read a lot and i was searching for an easy solution to make a dwc system.

Do u like the idea to use this particular food/alimentary container (similar to petrol can)?
I'll cut the handle and make a hole for one 3 inch pot.

Pros:
1)It's cheaper.
2)Possibility to have a tap/faucet at the bottom.
3)Easy check up of the ph, ppm and level of nutrient solution through the bottle top.
4)Different capacity: (1,2,3,5,10,15,20,25,30 liter). My choice is 20/25 liter
5)Perfect position for 2 air stone or 1 long air diffuser bubble wands.

Do u find any problems with this container?

Sorry for my bad english:dunce:

It might work well. One possible problem is it would have a high center of gravity and could be easy to tip over. I would think of a way to stabilize it at the bottom.

Ya dude that would probly work fine maybe paint it black though so less light gets in. The drain at the bottom will be handy!

Thank you all!

i forgot to say that i used with great results adhesive paper for a aeroponic/bubbleponic cloner.(still in beta test )
I tried to paint but the color didn't remain on the container.
So i bought 2 adhesive paper, black and white, and put them on the container...first the black one and after the white one.;-)

Thanks for the suggestion...i'm thinking of a way to stabilize it.

I'm reading every thing on this forum and i am surprise about the great info i can find...THANK YOU!

Edit: i think 3 inch pot is too small. If i cut a hole about 5-7 inch i will also have the possibility to wash the container ..I didn't think about cleaning it before i posted.

I have a question... Do you prefer small o big pots? 3 inch or more? With a 6-7 inch pot will i have the possibility to lift the pot with plant without damaging the plant or the roots?

I use 3 5/8 pots and can grow trees in them. You need to get spray paint made for plastic to paint these things.

Could you lift up/put up the 3 5/8 inch pot from the container?

Without a lid this is the only method to check the roots.

That might be a reason to rethink using it. An access port is good to have. Water is easy to drain but where do you pour it in?

So i understand you couldn't lift up the pot?

I think to pour it in a bucket with a hole camp.

I share with you my aero bubble cloner...in BETA testing
I don't need these clones, they are just a try... I don't think they will root because they stay in really cold place(63 F) but i wait.
In this cloner i use 3 inch pot...if i could not change them this would be perfect.

Ok...the adhesive paper is not the best idea but it is nice
