DWC w/ Four 3" net pots OR Ebb/Flow with Six 7" Square pots?

Evening again everyone,

As usual I have been over-thinking what to do with my next cycle and I am stuck on 2 options. Original plan was to go with a DIY Ebb/Flow system using storage bins. It would hold six 7 inch square pots.

I have now been looking at the DWC buckets and I am looking at the ones with the four 3" net pots in the lid.

Now I can fit TWO of the DWC buckets in the same space at one of the Ebb/Flow bins, so in terms of pots I would have 8 in the DWC vs 6 in the Ebb/Flow, but the DWC uses net pots, so I would assume that the DWC would not suffer from smaller pots since the roots hang down. With the Ebb/Flow, the roots are limited to the pot size (1.3 gallon size).

Am I correct that the DWC would work much better in terms of growth and size VS the Ebb/Flow even though the DWC has smaller "pots"?

Once the plant gets roots in the res with dwc you'll see just how useless the actual pot size is. The pot doesn't need to be that much bigger as the stem is the main thing that will actually be filling the pot and the stem will most likely not get over an inch thick on a short grow. If your going to do LST and cropping then you'd want more space in grow area unless your planning on removing branches before flower to prevent clutter issues later.

Well, I don't plan on the plants getting huge. Maybe 1 to 1.5 feet before switching to flowering, since they grow 2x - 3x in flowering. Still have a lot to learn about training, I have looked and read a lot about it, but only done autos, so little time or nerve to train. This will be my first venture with photo-cycle females and mothers, so it will be a learning curve for me.

But thanks on the advice with the pots, just wanted to confirm if I was correct.

Start training from early on when you have enough stem to pull down before the stem gets tough. And with autos I think just making the main stem tied down side ways would give you much more light penetration for better buds as you can then spread out branches all the same hight with no removal of leaves or branches

Also iv got to say this because iv first hand seen it. Extreme gardening mykos really makes a difference to seedling roots.
