Man naked eye up close and the actual bud is just covered in resin glands. I think that's why in the pictures the buds look whiteish, also why you can't notice that the majority of hairs have turned orange.

Don't trim away any leaves other than fan leaves if they are blocking nodes, leave the sugar leaves alone.

They look just fine as they are.

I've heard of some people harvesting slowly, the oldest buds first until you chop the top and there is nothing left. I have yet to try it.

cost of knowledge comes high might take a harvest or two lol....
Lol yea my cost per gram will be pretty high the first round. Lights should last for some years, so my main expense from here should simply be nutrient. So cost will go down every harvest from here.

Yea that's really all that's left is mainly sugar leaves. Looks like my trimming here is done! I never got the chance to pull out the scope and examine last night. I'm sure I gotta have some that's close. I'm going to buy a bag today and hoping it to be the last bag I ever have to buy! I'll snip a cpl tonight and my bag should last me at least a week to let tonight's snips atleast dry. Then every snip from there should get better and then hopefully I'll have time to actually cure the majority of it.

I guess that's also hoping this carbon filter lasts more then a month....lol

Now the accidental bud trim I haven't been trying to really control the drying proccess and it's still moist and dosnt even smell like the plant did. Has that "green" smell to it. Is that because it isn't fully dry or because I'm skipping the cure? As in I didn't expect much taste skipping he cure but the way it smells right now it would have a taste but nothing like the plant usually tastes like.

And also other then a carbon filter and fan combo nothing purchased was really a waste. A huge bump in cost was all the sound treatment and insulation for the room. That and LED is obviously higher upfront cost but lower operation cost due to efficiency and longevity.

Oh and I've made it far enough to say that I think LED has made it! Its definetly a viable growing light from start to finish!

Your light pulls 350W at max load, you can't get away from that. After the chop and proper dry and cute then you can see if the grams per Watt is there.

A lot of guys on the diode circuit swear by the COB and the Quantum Board, blurple was the old tech apparently. Although, those lights do produce nice frost.

Even though those plants look amazing you might be looking at an upgrade, or at least test the newer tech against yours side-by-side.

I've been wanting to build a rig for a decade, I might be doing just that next year.

What's the difference of cob and quantum board vs mine? Life expectancy is about 5 years with mine so that's how long I was planning to use. And remember it's x2 each has their own light. So need 700g to hit the g/watt mark. With not knowing how much weight they will continue to gain, how much they will shrink through dry and cure, it's hard for me to guess how close or far I am from that mark lol. I'd guess shy of it, if they were both the size of my bigger one I'd feel more confident. Wild guess right now I'd have to say I feel confident I'll hit my 12oz goal.

The little one was a runt from the get go, was almost tossed. I don't see me getting more then 4 out of it. So I think that will really hold me back. Plus everything has revolved around making the bigger one happy and just assumed the little one would like it too. Checked ppm of both today and big one at 700ppm little one at 1000ppm so obvious that it didn't have the same needs. Plus the test of no defoliation was during a pretty crucial time but I had more faith in my method which is why I picked the small one for no defol as I figured that would be the one tonfeel the pain.

At 1600$ into those two lights we are doing a couple harvests before upgrading lol. But I would like to know about the real difference. My understanding was quantum boards only had the advantage of more mounting distance.

Its is the luminous flux, the COB and QB produce more useable light photons than the blurple lights. The blurple seem to have a much better spectrum at the sacrifice of density. They are less powerful so the light requires more diodes and they have to be closer to the canopy.

That's all I really know about it, I'm still reading into them and I think I'll be building after the next gen comes out. Either save money on last gen or ante up for the new stuff.

Yea, I suppose they would perform better with big large plants being able to give enough light to lower nugs and penetrate the canopy. I suppose when mine die out we will have a clear winner by then. I'm kind of interested I'm going to do a little research tonight. Kind of looking forward to the next grow knowing what I know now. Although it will be a different strain hopefully it isn't THAT different... lol

Doing a little peaking around looks like some high powered COBS would be a great addition to
My blurples for flowering.

Day 36 Flower

Took a little goody basket. I got about 1 weeks worth of smoke left so I gotta start picking now. Probably start snipping a little bit every other day to make sure a steady flow is coming in, and then as I stockpile I'll be able to extend dry and cure times.
