DWC Scrog Grow Extrema & El Monstre!

I only need one good plant from each as I always clone so should work out, the more Females the better and I do like a few different phenols to chose from. I bought 6 strains from Sannies and then a month later bought 5 more plus he sent me 2 freebees the first time and 2 the second time an 1 because they short shipped me. So I now have a total of 16 strains from Sannies and 3 from Dr Atomic (don't waste your time or money on Atomic) and 2 more of my own. I collect pollen from the males to use in my breeding program. Gets confusing a bit, and I do make some mistakes, but a ton of fun and still learning.

RDWC is all new to me, since I'm a legal med I am limited to growing 50 plants total so wanted to see how much I can get from 1 plant and RDWC looks like the way to get the most with the least plants. I learned some new shit doing this it's kind of humbling I do say, I have been growing since christ was a cowboy and everyone askes me questions all the time about Organic dirt growing and I know my shit, but RDWC is new to me and through me some curves. Next grow will be stupendous the green gods willing. I'm going to put RGS#7 in to replace these guys. It's another cross of mine NL#5, SuperSkunk and FreezeLand (H Angles Quebec) (RGS stands for Real Good Shit)

I can't wait to see your Extrema and El Monstra. The Extrema is going to stink your place up and mess you up real good.

If I were you, I'd just smoke that shit as is. You've been flushing incredibly long. I don't think you should risk potency by flushing too long.

Edit:

When dealing with hydro growing, you have to keep in mind that anything that seems extreme (and a month long flush qualifies) will have some sort of impact. I think after a certain point of growing without nutrient, the process of translocation (absorbing nutrients from surrounding leaves to support life) would stop after all the remaining nutrients in the plant structure have been utilized. After that, the plant may just start feeding on itself trying to stay alive... that sounds like stress to me. And a stressed bud is a less potent bud.

Yea, with one good plant that you know is a female. You could make into a beast. I'm gonna LST then Scrog this next round.
I was pleased with Sannies service and all of my seeds were good and healthy. I will purchase from him again in the future as well. Different strains of course.
The El Monstre has a good sweet smell to it. So I can just imagine the Extrema cuz I get the feeling that its gonna be a better strain.
I can def see the advantages of the RDWC. Grow bigger plants and and roots without them getting all tied together like in DWC.
But for me I like the DWC cuz its simple and not many moving parts to it. I'll try RDWC when I get moved into another place with more room.

Completely agree with ya. I know they have been stressed, but they are not stressed real bad. I don't think.
A month is a long time to flush them, but I was also thinking I was doing them a favor by flowering them for 9 weeks.
Thinking they were 8-9 wks. It's almost been 11 weeks. Honestly, I'd let them go another week if I wasn't afraid of risking it.
Imma chop them this weekend. Whatever is not done enough I will just chop up and make some butter with it I guess.
Should have plenty of smokable budz.

You're lucky. I love harvest time. I don't know... those buds look plenty juicy. And if you let them cure a bit, even early bud can mature a bit become more potent.

Yea some of them are pretty juicy looking. El Mon 1 seems to have more dense compact budz and El Mon 2 seems to have more airy fluffy budz.
I accidentally cut off a light green premie bud the other day and dried it out. It got me high but tasted a little too green. Would be better cured I'm sure.
That 30 gram bud I chopped the other day dried down to 12 g. So I am around 22 g total that I have harvested so far.
I can only imagine how big these budz would be if they would have been flushed properly. They would all be forearm size whoppers. Next time!!

Growing bigger and better is always the goal, finishing a grow is always sweet, but learning something that will make the next grow even better is always a bonus, keeps you from making the same mistakes. I'm going to chop my girls today and hope to get way more next time as long as I don't screw up. I left them in the dark for 3 days, not sure if it made any difference, the replacements are looking the best I have ever grown in DWC for veg. I need to make some changes to hose size for converting to RDWC in veg. the hydroton plugs the hoses. My new ladies in the black pails veging and my new RGD#7 in the DIY cloner

This is El Mon 2 after being chopped and trimmed. More airy and fluffy buds compared to El Mon 1.
I will chop her later and post pics of her as well.
The total of El Mon 2 is 435 grams (15.5 oz) wet with stems.
So I guesstimate a 1/3 will of that total weight dry minus the stems,
should put me at around 3.8 oz of dry budz off of the one plant and 4 oz of trim for butter.
I will post dry weights in a couple days. I'll post part 2 of chop later today.
Excited, cuz El Mon 1 has my big buds. :hump:

Props to you BB very nice work, my wife hates when I chop it stinks the house up so she gets the incense going, it still smells like money to me. Nice trim job, hell I could never do it that good or everyone would expect it all the time, if you pop over to my grow you will see what I mean. I dry them like that and than when dry use my fingers to knock the rest off and keep that for hash or cooking. How was the smell? I have the following from Sannies I will start growing in Aug. the Chocolate Mix, Selene, Herijuana IBL and also got NYCD x Cocoa Kush. Do you make your butter in a crock pot?

Not bad. Be sure they're in a dark place!

Chopped El Mon 1 and got her cleaned up.
She weighed in wet at 487 grams (17.3 oz)

So total for the 2 plants wet is 32.8 oz. Dry weight should be around 9-10 oz
Will post up more accurate dry weights in a couple days once they dry out.
I got 7 oz of premie bud and trim leaves for butter.
I am very pleased with the outcome of the grow and could have probably pulled another 2 oz if I would have flushed properly.
I have a mesh screen over my scrog net and have the budz spread out on the mesh and have my carbon fan and filter running with the oscillating fan and light turned off and will leave them there for a couple days. Checking on them from time to time to turn and flip them

Funny you say that about the trimming. I didn't use a pair of scissors at all. I chopped them with my shears then put a latex glove on each hand and plucked each and every leaf and stem from the core part of the budz. I may have left a couple here and there but they look fine to me. The smell is amazing. Nice and sweet!! I was holding it down in my lap while plucking and the smell bout knocked me over.
Never made butter before so this will be my first time.

Wow man that looks amazing. Cheers. I'm eager to see the dry weight. Also, have you considered making honey oil or just regular oil with some of the trimmings. Pretty simple but very effective.

Nope, but I'll check up on it cuz I have 7 oz and don't need that much butter. So may try some other things too.

little hint on making butter, if you want to have better butter refine it at least 1 more time. After you make it and it's hard, remember to wash off the brown slime on the bottom of the butter. Put a deep pot of water on the stove to boil, once boiling drop the butter into the water and turn it down to simmer, use a spoon and swirl the butter from top to bottom in a circular motion, this separate more of the crap out and makes it milder tasting. Pour into container and cool.

First off awesome harvest bro those buds quality looks awesome I have also trimmed my buds quite finely on my past three harvest but after 12 hours of going at it with the scissors last harvest I really need to find a way to cut back on the labor! I am also really interested in butter I have never really looked at it in a scientific factor I usually just throw a bunch of shake into a pan with a stick of butter and boil some water beneath it to melt it all together once it would start to smell I would assume its done yet I can assume I am doing it all wrong.

@Woodsmaneh! so after hardening the butter you just dump the stick in a pot of boiling water? this sounds a little fishy but I always wonder why the medical clinics butter looks normal color and mine usually has a green tint are you sure you just dump the stick into a pot of water or is there some type of measurement used also do you use fan leaves or just sugar leaves and what is the best thing to collect them on top basically what is the best method from taking the ingredient gathering it up and producing it.

Dapio: Thanks for stopping in. It took me about 4 hours total for both plants to pluck them.
Plucking to me seems to do a cleaner job than trimming with the scissors.
My gloves sure were sticky tho. Better than my fingers. Lol!
