Dear moderators of this forum, perhaps there should be some sort of sticky/FAQ kind of topic where information like bad nute formulas, goood formulas, brewing recipes, procedures that have been proven to work and similar information should be collected, so that new people can easily find them.

I added the colloidal silver a day ago amd the slime and algae died in hours. The water looks clear and I can see all the dead slime on the bottom of the buckets which i couldnt before because the water was so brown. I also noticed a growth spurt. Its nice because i dont have to take the plants out while killing the slime. Gonna run it for another day then flush but I think it worked. If this winds up working it could be a miracle product because supposedly it also protects against rot and a shit ton of other stuff. Im not sure yet but i will keep everyone posted on the outcome. I also have some non fem free seeds I was gonna junk but im gonna try to fem them with the colloidal silver. Wish me luck.

Also kinda nice because the silver works at higher temps so I haven't needed a chiller. Too bad you can only run it for a week.

I am taking pics of the progress but wanna wait to upload until I am sure that the silver didnt inhibit new root development. I wouldnt wanna advocate anything before I can be sure it works. So far so good though. Slime is dead and now sitting on the bottom of my buckets waiting to be cleaned up. The water is clear when before it was murky. My tds didnt rise more than 10 ppm which is great. Still having a hard time getting ph stable, it keeps rising to between6.2 and 6.5 withing hours pf lowering no matter how much ej ph down I use but that is probably just because the slime is still there breaking down. I am gonna start a grow journal detailing everything as soon as we have a final verdict. Fingers crossed.

Can we put a pantyhose of ewc and add mycogrow directly into dwc res? To diversify the benes we can make fresh batch every time we change the res.

Bennies multiply fast in brewing res because there is sugar disolved so they can eat as much as they need to. If you added them straight into the res, they would probably just starve.

If I'm not getting foam when I brew does that mean its not active?

I'm not sure. In my case it meant just that, but I think I have seen some people report having no foam but a good brew.

Do you get slimy biofilm on your airstones? What temp are you brewing at?

So I'm putting together a RDWC system and am having a rough time getting the 2" PVC pipe squeezed into the uniseals in the buckets. Soapy water isn't really cutting it. I saw one video where a guy uses vaseline for babies smeared on the pipe to get it in, but before I use anything like that I wanted to check here to make sure that it wouldn't harm the bennies in the tea or the plant roots themselves. I'm not sure I like the idea of a petroleum product in my plant's water.

Astroglide maybe?...seriously...it's water based

Try an organic detergent..wash it out after..don't see the harm

Rubber and plastic gets more elastic on higher temps. Try heating it a bit with warm water.

Has anyone tried using lacto bacillus?

I had the same problem with my 3 inch pvc. The trick is to slightly taper down the ends of the pvc and use vegetable oil. Clean system thoroughly afterwards with hydrogen peroxide

Also I am happy to report the colloidal silver killed all algae and plants look great. Flushing today then cpeanong system with h202. Plants will be sitting in individual bubble buckets during system cleaning with just ph'd water and colloidal silver to dip the roots in.

What ratio did you use? What do your roots look like? Pics?

I finally completed a 8 week cycle with no slime problem that's to the Tea. Here is what I've found to be true. You need to Run 0.5 micron filters on your pre and post filter section on your RO water system. Running 6 cups of tea in a 14 gallon N.F.T. rez ...I add every 3 days and do Rez change every sixth day. The tea seems to steer the Ph around to what level the plant wants to eat at. Running at a pH of 6.1 to 6.3 seems to be the sweet spot and an E.C. of 1.250 and no more than 1.350 . If pH drops within the first 3 1/2 weeks of putting them in flowering you need to add cali-mag or some kind of short term nitrogen booster. After 3 1/2 weeks then you add a capful of dutchmasters potash if you see drastic PH drops. I want to humbly thank you Dr Heisenberg. Your tea is surely the magic bullet.

Does anyone know the proper mixture to make the tea if your using great white as you bennies? I am running a current culture undercurrent setup so it requires less nutrien change out and flushes. Since I onoy change water monthly I want to use as littpe as possible to avoid the tea slime that eventually arises when you use to much. I want to use as little as possible while still being effective. I am working with great white , ancient forest and molasses. I should have already had the tea made but completely forgot and am now crunched for time. Im thinking about a small dose of hydrogen peroxide 35% to ward of the slime until my tea is ready. I just finished the colloidal silver flush and scrubbed out the system. By the way if you saw my post earlier on this thread, the colloidal silver worked and made the plant grow like nothing ive ever seen before. Even with a horrible brown slime problem worse than any Ive seen before, the pants I had to run the silver through are twice as big as the auto flowers that were started on the same day in an uninfected system. If the plants dont hermie I will start running colloidal early on in all my veg cycles. I was told by a pro that as long as I stay under seven days id be fine. I only ran it 3.

Scroga, I used 8 oz per 70 gallons as instructed by a pro. Its a quarter recommended dosage. On the bottle it says to feed four times that every feeding during the entire cycle. Running it anymore than 7 days or at higher than quarter strength will increase the possibility of hermies. The roots weren't out of the net pots yet but after adding the silver they finally emerged and were white even though the system was crazy gross. I can definitely state that it took out the slime and severely boosted plant growth ( like cyco xl but in early veg) but until I harvest and know for sure it didn't herm anything I cant advise it for anyone else unless its the last resort like it was for me. The roots were too young for h202 or bleach and the slime happened so quick there was no other way tp stop it. After I harvest and know if it really works I will start a journal, I have been taking pics and videos of the growth and slime removal.
