Keep your nutes about a 1/4"-1/2" below the net pot & you R good to go.in a true DWRC YOU NEED LOTS OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN SO THE ROOT ZONE ABSORBS WHAT IT NEEDS.

True but it looks like a cluster fuck with strings tied everywhere holding plant up
when using them big totes you need to build PVC braise inside the tote, to help support plant .
You get bowing, with most totes cause of the water in it, this can lead to possible leaks.
There are some pretty good deals on craigs list or other places ,, or you can do some googling shopping around and find some really good modules i lucked out got 32 site Under current 13 gallon modules for free that was just collecting dust ,,,
just modules now ordering other parts from the site mostly UC's locking seals i will purchase piping local.. pumps etc..
I really think anyone looking at building there own to start out with 2 - 3 - 6 site set up and do there home work spend money once this is why i think 13 gallon is perfect it will grow you anything from small to trees
IMO i like a plant to support it self problem with going like tubing like op mentions is you really cannot grow big plants and you lose over head height cause strings are everywhere supporting plants

YA you use the tote for your res.it gives you plenty of room to set up your submersible if you go that route+ you run your pump to chiller out of your res.then from your res straight to your buckets with 1/2" top filling & 1" on bottom for good undercurrent great flow all around.so there's not a bunch stuff in the way nice 'n' sime but EXTREMELY effective.explosive growth, clean & Gen Hydro is a great product.KoolBloom is Explosive.

YA there's a fine line but if you read your plants you can tell what the ladies need .Lots of bubbles & plenty of dissolved oxygen& nice n chilly nutes you should be Golden.

FUCK, my 3 paragraph post vanished on image upload. Well, you get the point. rig should hold 15 gal and will be 30" square with air tubes down each vertical pipe. tubes will be 20" from ground to top. I have a 9' ceiling. plenty of headroom. Thoughts?

Looks cool but restrictive, how will you remove your ladies & clean the tubes & how does it recirculate?Cool looking designz

how does it recirculate
, operating on the principle that water seeks its own level. 10 gal reservoir will contain pump with (4) outlet manifold. pumps out over hose into each tube top just under hydrotone. Air-stones submerged in each tube as well as 10 gal reservoir. added updated design with flow indicators. Not sure about the cleaning. Had intended on using hydroguard thru entire cycle to alleviate root cleaning. Planned on weekly aerating to prevent root lock on tubes. The air would probably build up from the stones and shoot the baskets out if not. As far as pulling the ladies, getting them back in the tubes might be like putting the shit back in the goose. It's a good portable, rigid design but I am sure it will need some tweaking. First pancake off the grill is always the worst. Welcome any devils advocate critiquing.

What diameter tube R u going to go with, you don't want to choke your plants with not enough oxygen in such a confined space.what size net pots R u going to go with?R u going to sit the net pots directly on top of the tube for EZ access to your ladies roots & to check bubbles & aeriation.

clean setup you got there. Im pretty much in line with that rig with some twists and turns.
continuos drip or a 30 mins.on & 3 hr off cycle
: Continuous
Black ABS or White PVC?
: White schedule 40 (4" ID on grow tubes, 2" ID on flow)
access to your ladies roots & to check bubbles & aeriation
: the grow tube will be clear PVC sch 40. A little pricey but I will have a full view of root growth. I will hood the grow tube to keep it dark all times other than observation
R u going to run a chiller?
Had not planned on it. Working a sealed room with ample AC. Also plan on placing a spigot by return to reservoir for easy drain. had considered putting "T" barb in air line and injecting pure Oxy straight into the root ball for a minute every hour of photosyth.

It will be interesting to see how this play out. I have seen a 5' MJ plant growing wild on top of coral rock. It was fairly healthy considering. I cant imagine I will experience any results I cant tinker with to get squared away. The only place I wont be able to mod is the grow tube width.
