For your average indoor grow are 3.5 inch pots the right size ? Do you need to go bigger or smaller ?

Anyone make their own ?

Are 2.5 gallon DWC big enoough for the whole grow with smaller plants or should you go with 5 gallons all the time if you have the room ?

if you're talking about a stand-alone bucket dwc system, 5 gallons all the way. they hold more nutrients, which means less time in between top-offs and changes. when your plants start drinking a gallon of water and more a day, you'll appreciate the extra volume.

if you're talking about a recirculating or ebb n flow bucket system, usually 3.5 gallon buckets nested inside 5 gallon buckets.

i use 5 gallon buckets with 6inch net pots. might be overkill, but it gives more room for the roots to hang on to, making a sturdier plant imo.

Cool, I'll go with the 6 inch pots.

Any advice on the watering schedule ? Fill it up once a week, dump the old out and put the new in ? Do you just keep adding fresh as needed.

I'm planning on just doing a stand alone as I'm testing it out, I still like soil for now but will give the bucket a try because I put a houseplant in a smaller yet similiar setup and got it to work. Time to try it out.
