ok this is my first dwc after a disappointing soil run

heres my set up:

rubbermaid 3.6 x 2.5 x 2

air pump dual output
air stones
fish tank heater cause it cold here 19 - 20
degrees
net pods x 7
coco from a u-gro bag for my substrate
greenhouse seeds Jack Herer x 2, 3 left for later
malberry Bhutanese Thimphu x 5
peat pellets x 7
botanicare pure blend pro gro & bloom
cal-mag plus
free samplers of aqua shield and clearex
powerzyme cause i heard that the liquid karma was horrible for the res.
big bud powder
pk13-14
of coarse ph up and down
ph meter and blue lab ec meter
thermometer for the water
hygrometer for the room
400 hps
1000 hps
fans

right now the room is constant 27 degrees
humidity is 30 40 %
water is around 18 19 degress thank you winter
seeds just sprouted and transfered to dwc although no roots hanging yet
i think one might not make it stem shrank at the bottom
just added to the res (20 gal) 50 ml of aqua shield 100 ml of powerzyme and going to add a little pbp grow to get me around 500 ppm and not sure how to add cal mag plus yet gotta do some more research have some pics soon.:wall:

This is day three that i have transferred into dwc tank. day one i put pellets right at the bottom net pod and put a bit of coco around basically to keep it level with the jiffy peat pellet flicked on the 400 and wet up surrounding coco and pellets. today went and did my mourning check and i noticed some nice growth they're liking the 400. the one i though was dying stood up straight over night feewf temps 28 c humidity 40% water temp 20 c just turned it down a bit my ppm meter shows 308 was a bit higher around 388 before i added another 2 gallons of water . i'm a bit worried that there's about 3 4 inches between the net pods and the water, but i have noticed the the air pump through's up some water from the bubbles. i also added some duct taper around the net pods to stop the light from seeping in. i forgot to mention that i made 8 holes in my rubber made and left one open for easy access.

been about a week so 2 jacks coming along and 3 of 5 bhutanese thimpu are looking nice one had trouble getting out the seed breaking it s cover lol, and one just died it wasn t even the same one which looked like it was sick the last time. tomorrow is the first day of 18 \ 6 and the roots are just starting to pop out the net pods think i got to add a bit more water to get the level closer to the roots theres about 3 4 inches between the pods i turned the heater off in the res. and its still around 22\21 degrees which i guess is ok a tad bit high but will check during the week if it changes with the light cycle the heater lowest temp it 18 degrees so i should be safe. i have to take some pics soon.

yup it looks like i lost two ladies but kinda works out anyways more room for the others so i got three b.t.'s and 2 jacks now lets hope there all ladies they were fem seeds but thats still not a gauranty. checked every thing out today after i got my ph pen back and good thing i did because the ph was at 4.1 good thing roots weren t in it yet,but i was feeding it too the babies by cup but they seemed to like it & they grew pretty quick .so ppm was at 351 i added 4 gallons of tap water went down to about 320 ppm ph was at 6.5 added in some pbpg about 160ml broght my up to 550 ppm and some powerzyme (which doent give any ppms) then i added 120 ml of cal mag plus which brought my ppms to about 650 range + or - a few and ph went to 5.7 so didn t have to lower again fewf i keep forgetting to wait till after adding nutes to play with the ph levels. after all that i gave them a few cups of food from the res and voila done till tomorrow and also was the first day of 18\6 .temps while the light was off were around 22 degrees and 40 hum and on are 28d and 40%hum. water temps 22 23 degrees celcius on and off . hopefully in a week two max there all ready to go 12\12.

ok it s been a couple of days so i replaced some of the seeds that didnt make it with some hash plant babies hopefully they weren t stressed too much in the cold drive.
roots on the biggere plants are hanging around half an inch now cant wait till they hit the water one of each of the jack and bhutanese thimpu are taking off nicely really looking alive and pale green on of the jack has a real weird looking set of leaves has a regular set of leaves but on the shoot it lookis like a lizard on both sides going right to the stem hmmmm i guess a mutant. also i got some silica blast today. didn t add any yet but will doo on the week end.

heres another pic a couple of days later temps and stats all still the same but roots are hanging about half an inch now. the two hp are still struggling to survive the other two i put in coco soil are dead and the same thing with the other sixteen my friend had that gave them to me! compared to the other two that died these ones still look alive not quilling over didn't loose any colour but they are showing some sort of distress edges of the leaves are crispy and yellowing. going to have to wait a while i think it might postpone me a few more weeks that sucks the others are going to turn into monsters in the mean time.

was really pissed yesterday found a bunch of webs and little white dots on them you know what that means i yanked those puppies out of there asap that sucks no more hash plant but jack lives on in my cupboard clean and untouched for now and so does bhutan thimpu fewf! some up dates to come on the week end just added two more gallons of water broght my ppms down but i dont really think it should matter yet because the roots are not in the water yet well actually one is now touching with a few roots wohooo!dont know what s going on with the rest of them maybe that ones a male hope not. damn on of the hp's droped down in like two days i had on long stringy root kinda still dangling there was a shame going to add in some silica blast tonight man the suppliments just never stop i though pure blend pro was a stand alone nutrient but anyways lets see how this one grows and next time i might move on too tri plex or what ever it s call three part nutrient!!!

Good looking grow Macreal, Sorry to hear about your pest infestation. Heard pyrethrin applications(Over a several week period)will control a mite problem. Avoid the piperonyl stuff, it wont break down. Pyrethrin breaks down acouple weeks after the last application. Organic source=No chemical residue. Seen it sold in some hardware stores. Some people like predatory insects and nematodes. "Mosquito dunks"( have a mammal-safe enzyme only affecting larva), and treat/prevents fungus gnats...., Also very interested to see how the Bhutan thimphu comes out. Cant wait to hear a smoke report from ya' Macreal.

ok its been a couple of days thing are looking good in there hadn't checked the ph in a few days it was around 6.4 after i added 2 more gallons of water and then dropped that back down to 5.5 the babies liked that. i should have some pics later tonight the ec is at 1.4, i haven't seen any problems with the water yet but the roots are still developing only a couple of roots dangling the jack roots haven't dropped or peeked out the basket, and no signs of bugs so i think i caught them in time.

it s been a while but i got some new pics for your ganders lolhad some issues latly with heat and males . i conquered the heat with a 10 inch vortex and chopped out the males ba bye  . as far as my tub i havent changed the water since i flicked on march 1st and things are going great so far cross my fingers. just kept adding water and nutes as needed after introducing big bud to the picture i had to give 100 ml of pbp bloom and the week after back to 50 ml's as the first week in transition along with 50 ml's of each of the following every week cal mag, silica and power zyme. i had a problem with some mites a while back and though i caught them in time but i didn't i read some where hear and tried a garlic concoction but it didn't seen to phase them. so last week went out and bought some neem and bug b gone and i did a two days of neem and then two days of bug b gone seems to be going ok so far but i think i will continue for one more week every two days with the bug b gone just to make sure. in the pics theres three plants and as you can kinda see the Bhutan Thimphu is taking over here is the dia gram of how they're placed in my lid
