DWC Cooler Scrog

This is going to be a Grow Journal catch up. The plant is 35 days in and there’ll be bud porn coming up, I promise, I just wanted to do this in order. I’ve got some posts about this grow scattered around and figured I’d put them all together. I was given a cutting labeled as “Skunk V”, I don’t know anything about it’s genetics except the plant is an definite indica. This grow was started as an RDWC and changed over to a cooler DWC part way through. The grow was started with Maxibloom and tap water and is now using GH Flora series and KaBloom.

I took some cuttings and once they were rooted I transplanted 3 clones into a 6” net bucket lid with hydroton and placed them in the veg.

First, little clones with nice roots. One’s sad, I had some issues in veg but it got fixed.

Here they are about 28 days later. Under a 400 HPS, in the original RDWC. Almost ready to scrog.

I lost some pictures so there’s a gap in time but I flipped these to 12/12 on 2/9, so they are in stretch now. I scrog on a 16” x 22” screen with 2” x 4” holes. I start my screen about 4” and tie down to it with plastic wrapped wire like bread ties. I fill the screen during stretch rather than during veg. These are shortly after the first tie down.

This is what a 4 day stretch gets you. Ready for another tie down. I usually tie down every 3-4 days during a good stretch.

I saw Flo Grows' DWC cooler and liked it so I decided to switch over. It was a nice easy transition, I cut a hole in the top to fit my net pot, made a few modifications for res changes and to check water level and done. At this point the three clones have been under 12/12 for 17 days. The grow starts getting serious from this point on, so I'm going to take a break for now.

Nothing, huh? Am I wasting my time writing this?

How high is the screen above your gals...? Looks a little low? Also are you continuing to pull under for the first 2~3 weeks during the stretch? Any fimming? Looks good! On the cooler rdwc what's the last out inside? Hows it recirculating?.... What strain is this again?

Thanks for looking, Bob. The screens about 4-5 inches, just enough to reach under if I have to. I don't pull down through, I tie down to the screen. My screen has 5 long ribs and 12 cross ribs, I manipulate to follow those. I usually tie down during the entire stretch, these I only tied for 14 days. I FIM the main colas in the first week of stretch, they don't seem to mind and it works for me. The cooler isn't an R just a DWC, the valve is just for nutrient change. The plant is supposed to be a "Skunk V" but I've never heard of it before.

Growing well at 25 days. Plants are now in GH Flora series nutrients at N-66, P-136, K-221, TDS of 1055 and pH 5.8. Screen is filling well and multiple bud sites are showing.

Last of the pictures for now. Plants are at 35 days and the stretch is over. I let these get longer than I normally do, just wanted to see what a predominantly indica strain would do after the stress of tying down. I guess the answer is obvious. It explodes.
Plants have just gotten a fresh reservoir change. I added Liquid KaBloom to the mix. Nutrients are now N-40, P-186, K-309, TDS 1100, pH 5.8.
Looking pretty good, in my opinion, frosting already, lots of bud sites and they’re getting deep light penetration. Finally, here’s some bud porn.

duuuude, this is exactly what i have been wanting to do, drop my 5 gallon net pot into an igloo cooler, pleaase message me if u can, how do you change ress? is it difficult?
