can i have roots suspended in water and hell lota bubbles in there? or is a drip required? i figure the dwc with bubbles would be the perfect mix of water and oxygen

The more bubbles in ur water the more oxygen in it.At different stages i lower my water levels and bring the oxygen content in the water to maximum levels. I never used a drip in my DWC but have heard of this being done. However ive found no use for it in my system. U can mimmick lots of styles in a tub..Was going to make a thread on this too.
Yes in DWC roots are submerged full time air is the key. Stages of growth require different elemants.
In seedling stage i place my water at the bottom of the pot or a lil above.Lots of air keep in mind..Pushing the water up into the rock and forcing the roots down into the water..Dont want the plugs or wool saturated only moist..This forces ur plants roots to grow down to the water..Once my root hits the water i feed them1/4 strength.
And lower my level about an inch below the pots..This forces them to grow more roots to the water and thats when the growth explosion occurs...
This is the point u manipulate them to the fullest extent by lowering ur levels down to about 2/3 full and maximize ur air to water ratio. and plant food uptake..
I lower my water levels every 2 weeks during rez changes..Let it work for u dont go lowering levels make it happen naturally. only the top 3rd of roots out of the water at all times.
Hope this makes sence.
Its all very simple man good luck
Just be ready for uncontrollable jungles from there.
Be carefull what u ask for.

i would really like a sub forum as well. theres alot of crap to discuss just with dwc alone, and always being in water makes us way cooler...........bad pun. sorry

got my vote though

thank you onthedl. how long from seed to harvest with a system like this?
Harvest time depends on strain and lighting more so when flowering..

DWC will veg certain strains just like any other hydro grow style alot faster than alot of soil set-ups in as lil as 2-3 weeks u can be ready for flower mode depending on what kind of requirements or what u want in ur flower room..LOnger veg times lead to monster plants at flower tho..U just need the proper lighting and space requirements to handle monsters.

thank you onthedl. how long from seed to harvest with a system like this?

With normal, outdoor grows, we plant a seed in early Spring, say mid April. Then we harvest in October, at or near first frost, equaling 6 months, 24 to 25 weeks of elapsed time.
With a good DWC Hydroponic system, even without a Drip or Bubbleponics Irrigation Hub Feeder, you can cut that time in HALF, and still have adult mature plants. You plant and grow and go through what is called the GROW or VEG Cycle. If oyu ahve enough Height Space, you can and should VEG under 24 hour lights, for 5 weeks to get an adult mature, Indoca, ready to make flowers, plant. ( I am not saying a 3 day old plant can not be Flowered, BUT we should let a plant grow up to adulthood first). Then we BLOOM or FLOWER for an average of 56 days, some strains in 49 days, some in 63 days.

But, we get big Buds from big plants on the average of 13 weeks, start to finish by giving them constant LIGHT, and Regular controlled feedings.

Dang, we must of answered that at the same time.
Yea great info roseman.. Wow Ur answer kinda explained mine fully awesome man.

:eyesmoke:Wonder if they will give us all a sub forum im sure they would have no problem with it..Think it would all come down to whether or not they could..If they have proper space within the site and such..Who knows keeping my fingers crossed.

I've never heard someone say Dang before. But I bet you never heard anyone say "Wicked Pissa".
Just thought I'de share that with you.

Dang is a southern drawl word, polite for DAMNED ! what does WICKED PISSA mean?

Karma Earl and his brother say it too.
