Dutch Passion - Mekong High Hermied on Me

I got this single seed from the '10 holiday promotion at the tude. I vegged for 1.5 months and 40 days into flowering, started seeing balls on the top colas, so i picked a few off, and the next day there were more in other places! so i decided to just kill it off.. it was a 5 ft monster =\ it was a real sativa though, stretchy and would have been another 50+ days before harvest on that thing.

i had it growing along with DP orange bud,DP blueberry,DP White widow, DP kandy kush, Kannabia's big band, TGA vortex, and none of those have had any hermie traits so far. i was kind of worried about the blueberry for a little while but i think they are just swollen callex's

Sorry to hear that. I have an orange bud an blueberry going at the moment, they are on day 35 flower.

I just harvested a Mekong high last night.. She is a beaut.. I had hermie issues late into flowering with DP blueberry though. Major bummer....

Awesome man, the plant was nice looking, i just couldn't keep genetics with issues around, got to make room for the good stuff. Plushberry, Apollo 13, Flo, and jilly bean are sprouting to fight for the next spot in the garden

So far bad luck with Mekong, got ten, one out of four sprouted. Also I question genetics.
Got three in the oven will let you know if they sprout.
With fem seeds you have 20% chance or more for hermies.

i had a pack of there skunk 11 seeds from dp, 2 have made it ok but the other three grew deformed. the two that made it though are very nice but i guess thats beyond the point when three seeds go tits up.
sorry to hear about yours going hermie on you, i know its a real bummer after all the effort of growing. sounds like it was gonna be a nice plant aswell.

One of my Masterkushs from DP also went Thailand style, feminized seeds are predisposed to hermie since their parent was a shemale. It sucks dude I know, but even hermies are a good smoke.

I just discovered that my Orange Bud just hermed on me, it's day 37 flower. Got to cut that bitch down,damn.................... I'm 2/3 with Dutch Passion seeds going the herm route on me. The first was a Passion #1 plant and now the Orange Bud. Let's see what the Blueberry does....

Got the other three to sprout, think it was my problem not DP's, too much water. First fem seeds, the more I read about the method's to achieve fem seeds the more I am convinced to stick to mother nature. In nature, if conditions are right you will naturally achieve more females than males.
In DP's fem study they found that the best conditions to achieve females were:

"Grow room factors can be manipulated to produce better female to male ratios. The female-inducing recipe, to be implemented during the first month of growth, involves providing:

1. More nitrogen, less potassium
2. More halide (blue spectrum) and less high pressure sodium (red spectrum) lighting
3. Shorter light cycles
4. A grow medium of 6.6 to 6.8 pH
5. Lower temperatures and higher humidity, plus higher soil moisture
6. Minimized stress (cloning and other stressors can destabilize plants, causing them to go male or hermaphrodite)."

Sorry about the hermie, so far my first experience with DP has been pretty good. Got Mekong High, Blueberry, Orange Bud, White Widow freebies. Orange Bud had hermie problems from the beginning but wasn't surprised after seeing so many grows online with problems.

Mekong and Widow seeds put out strong plants that were easy to grow..Mekong took less nutes but is always thirsty. I'm 9 weeks in on the Mekong and its looking good, recently developed a skunky odor in addition to its already fruity smell. Blueberry hasn't gone into 12/12 yet so no update yet on that..it has a very nice odor to it though..Widow smelled sooo good.

yea i herd if you grow under blue spec you have a higher chance of them not to hermi on you some growers where telling me other wise,lol but i done the research and blue spec for veg is the way to go when growing fem seeds.

yea... the white widdow and orange buds, blue berry, and kandy kush are all looking good.. by far orange bud has the most resin production. not sure if i even want to grow the blueberry, and white widdow again, they have very little resin production.. a trait that i am not looking for.

Dude Ive ran over 40 femminized strains and never had a hermie,I buy top of line seeds and dont have stress issues,I do have hermies from reguler seeds pretty often.Chernobyl,JTR,Pot of Gold,Mandal#1,Punna Budder have all been reguler seeds in which at least on pheno hermied ...

ahh i just picked up orange bud from dutch passion. i hope it doesnt hermie.

I have had alot of issues with Delta 9' Lab's Mekong Haze. Ed from Delta 9 tried righting the wrong by sending me a bunch of seeds but I had such a feked up run with his gear I said fek it and Im done with anything from delta 9 labs. Hope this helps--

The rest of Mekong came up and is under lights, it's a different looking sativa leaf, did anyone crop or take cuttings.

Hey all,
I have a few each of Dp's Blueberry,white widow,mekong high, twilight, orange bud and aa few others from DP that i cant think of right now and also a couple of kandy kush so far theyve had a 2 month veg and are ready to switch to 12/12 but am debating on letting the smaller clones catch up before I do. If I let them go longer would it hurt the older ones if i topped them again so the clones can catch up? Normally I wouldnt do this but this is prob the last grow for a while.
