Hi! :bigjoint:

Prologue:
So this is my third grow. Previous two were 2x auto (each grow) of various varieties. First grow under 250w ds cfl, second one I added a 300w led(china cheap leds). Yielded 80g and 50g. Second one less so think the leds really didnt do much.

That was this summer. Both times I had to harvest early due to the grow room being a guest room and my sister came to visit. She knows but doesnt approve. Obviously would not be happy sleeping next to the grow space  So I decided to wait until I could do it properly. Planted a DP seed in august. Was just a 11L pot so got potbound and not to big. Cloned it end of september to 3x clones. Got a grow tent ~3x3ft or 0.9x0.9m. A 600w hps and cooltube. Carbon filter 400m2/h ish and a fan for it. So now in my bathroom I have the grow tent. Outake pointed to outake of bathroom. Have carbonfilter->insulated tube->fan->normal tube->cooltube->tube->insulated tube-> out of tent pointed to outake of bathroom in ceiling.
For intake I have a 100m2/h ish fan on floor(gonna get mosquito net to filter out dust) connected to a tube and into tent in bottom of tent.

Door open: Ambient temp 24C. Inside tent 26C.
Door closed(when sister visits a few days each month): ambient 28C. Inside tent 30-32C. Doesnt really go above so figure 2-3 days max per month with this isn't such a big deal. Have B-52 which is suppose to help light stress. Just really hope the girls dont go dude on me...

Have cooltube around 30-40cm (15 inches) from top of mama.

As for my ladies. Havent named them yet but was thinking of Nicole for mama and then Jessica, Tiffany, and Mandy for the daughters. Mama moved house yday to a 29L pot(from 11L) and daughters to 11L pots(so small that I think this will be plenty for roots).

Will be using advanved nutrients, canna flush, and canna pH- and pH+. Will each week specify used nutrients for maximum detail and that way if smth goes wrong it's easier to get help from you guys and gals :-)

Also note: I am residing in a nordic country. Mention in hopes that you show leniency when it comes to language and using 'weird' words for equipment and not understanding what you mean by certain things.
Thanks!

Diary:
25/10 00:00: Switched to 12/12. And so begins Week 1 of flowering. Next post will be filled with pictures which I will take when lights come on. That post will also specify all details concerning nutes for week 1.

Stay tuned.
With love,
Tokify

Week 1 - Day 2

Medium, containers, fans, filter:
Soil, pH 5.5. Used it in previous grows. Mixed some vermiculite and clay balls in there. Mama (Nicole) is in 29L pot and daughters (Jessica, Tiffany, Mandy) are in 11L pots.
Light is a 600W Sunmaster in a Cooltube.
Carbon filter is 480 m3/h. Fan for it is 400 m3/h.
Intake fan is 175 m3/h.

Nutrients:
Will base my nutrients on the following feeding chart from advanced nutrients (Connoisseur AB + Hobbyist level) below, only difference being I will adjust levels slightly after for higher ppm-levels(default are to low) and also be using B-52 throughout entire grow. Says it helps with stress and sometimes tent gets a little to hot so figure it can't hurt, right?

Default water no nutrients: 100 ppm, 7.8 pH.

Advanced nutrients feeding chart.jpg
Ratio/levels:
Started with above recommendations and then dialed up bloom a+b until I hit 800ppm(900 with water's ppm). So in the end;
2.8 ml/L Bloom A,
2.8 ml/L Bloom B
2 ml/L Voodoo juice
2 ml/L B-52

This gave 900 ppm solution with 6.4 pH. Also add 1 C02 tab each watering but honestly haven't noticed any difference. Says it helps plant handle higher temps.

Pictures:
During veg I wasn't adjusting pH in water since this summer it was pretty ok at 6.8 pH but apparently it now is 7.8pH which caused some deficiencies and as such you will notice a leaf here or there that doesn't look so nice, mainly lower leaves on Jessica, Tiffany, and Mandy. So without further ado here are some pics day 2 of flowering. Feel free to comment on anything. Appreciate feedback!

Week 1 - Day 5
5 days into flowering. Pistils are starting to show. Started seeing some nutrient burn/nitrogen toxicity (curled down leaves). So reduced nutrients by alot. More on that below.
Changes
Due to nute burn and nitrogen toxicity levels of nutrients changed. Kept Voodoo Juice and B-52 same but reduced Bloom A and Bloom B from 2.83 ml/L to 1ml/L for second feeding. So all in all:
1 ml/L Bloom A
1 ml/L Bloom B
2 ml/L Voodoo Juice
2 ml/L B-52

Added a few drops pH- due to my tap water being so basic, final solution was 500 ppm with 6.2 pH. Daughters shared 10L of this and mother 10L. Significant run off. Could probably waited with watering another day but am going away a few days over the weekend.

Measured run-off which had 1250 ppm and 6.4 pH. Good news is ph-problems seem to be fixed from veg where I was watering with tap water which had 7.8 pH. On the other hand the ppm levels confirmed that my dear girls are being overfed. Will use this reduced nute concentration next watering as well and then see if ppm stabilizes to something more reasonable (~900ppm). If plants keep degenerating from nute burn I will just use plain pH adjusted water next time.

Questions
The "down-claw" obvious on pictures I have come to understand is most likely Nitrogen burn. Yellowing at tips of some leaves is probably this to although some leaves where like this before flowering so think might be pH-related possibly because during veg I wasn't using alot of nutes. Hasn't spread though and reducing nutrient solution will hopefully fix N-tox.

What I am wondering over though is why a few leaves (3-5) look like this. Is it normal? Could it be Mag-deficiency? What do I do?

Week 2 - Day 13
Been really busy so haven't had time to update in a while. Is anyone even reading this? :( Anyway regardless it helps me to write what I am doing done so I shall continue :)
So since last update I have mainly focused on reducing ppm as it was running quite high in run-off and plants where showing N-tox. They have since started to return to a less intense green but edges are still quite dark green and a leaf here or there is down curled. But overall as you can see below things are looking good! Growth has been extreme this past week but have used extensive LST as well as pruning some top fan leaves to slow growth. Have also kept temps very stable in order to try and reduce stretch (20-23C). Good news is stretch seems to be slowing down and if this is indeed the case then they honestly didn't stretch much for being supposedly 100% sativa. Although I think my pheno is showing indica characteristics(?). Read about DP having this more stout pheno(?).
Smell is still not so strong. Although a lot more noticeable than at beginning of flowering. Can't really place the smell but it smells very different to other strains I have grown. No liquorice smell yet. Really hope it starts to smell like liquorice. Seems very interesting. So far not the best smell but not terrible either. Needs some more time to develop its terpenes I think. (How do you pronounce "Terpenes" btw? "Ter-pens?" "Ter-pen-Es"`?)

Anyone who has grown DP that can comment on the so called liquorice smell? Is it prominent even for "noobs"? Or is it like fine wine that "has 100 flavors" to connoisseurs but to me just taste like wine?

Nutrients
So this week only change was introduction of Big Bud additive. Since nothing was removed I reduced B-52 to 75% to keep things reasonable. Remember really B-52 shouldn't be started until next week. But plants seem to really love it so try to throw some in there.
There was also the N-tox problem. It seems like Durban Poison eats alot of nutes, just not crazy about Nitrogen. So with that in mind. Bloom A has 3-0-0 and magnesium. Bloom B has 2-4-10. First I was thinking of just skipping Bloom A a few feedings but it's the only source of Magnesium and plant seemed to be showing Magnesium deficiencies (Se post above). So what I did was reduce Bloom A to half a few feedings But let pH rest at right above 6.5 where Magnesium uptake is the best(instead of 6.2-6.3 I was using before). I figured this would allow me to reduce Nitrogent being given to plant whilst still letting the plant get about as much Magnesium as it was getting at full feed(since uptake would be better). Seems to have worked. Today a few leaves at top where even starting to turn yellow so I figured it was safe to up the Bloom A some and reduce pH to 6.4.
Current feeding:
2 ml/L Voodoo Juice
2 ml/L Big Bud
1.5 ml/L B-52
1.5 ml/L Bloom A
2 ml/L Bloom B

Added a few drops pH- and got a final solution at 900 ppm with 6.35 pH. Measured run-off which had 1100 ppm, 6.45 pH. Not so worried anymore since we are now at end of week 2. Next week I was thinking of aiming for around 1000 ppm anyway, as long as there are no signs of nute-burn before then.

Pictures
Took a few at Day 9. So first those so you can see the change that has occured in just 4 days! :)

So that's all for today. Would very much appreciate some feedback. Am I being to detailed? Would you prefer just pics and short text? More small updates or are the bigger updates better? More pictures?

Week 3 - Day 20
So not much to report. Everything is looking great. Well I think so at least :p Only negatives was some slight light burn which you can see in one of the pics and that I accidentally snapped a main branch of one of the little girls but didn't go full off and I have put tape on it and some string so hopefully it heals nicely. Happened yesterday and isn't drooping today so think it might be ok :)

Oh and smell is still really not great. Smells very odd and not so good. Not strong yet though so might just need some ripening. Hope it improves. Did some reading and apparently true DP should not smell like liquorice but more spicy somehow with some fruity hints? Would be nice to get some input from people who have grown it because I really would like to hear that the finished product won't smell like this :( Maybe it is from the nutrients? Then flushing at the end of flowering should help?

Nutrients
So now I am following exactly recommended nutrients in the above chart. Have 1050 ppm, 6.4 pH. This is without adding pH-. So Advanced Nutrients "pH-perfect" seems to work pretty well. Might start adding a few drops to lower pH just a bit but since it has shown tendencies towards magnesium deficiencies I might just keep it around 6.3-6.5.
