dug up rockwool cubes, others left

Well something dug up all my seedlings that I planted outside and had rooted in rockwool first but then left the couple that I planted straight into the ground, anyone know why that might be?

my guess is either it smelled like it might contain something edible or it would make good nesting/bedding material for whatever animal did it.
