They are kind of cool as far as the spectrum but no where near the lumens of a strait hps.
it said roughly 117000 lumens, but im in a closet here...so isnt that PlEnTy?? 24'' {wall 2 doors, 6 feet wall 2 wall, 9 feet high, with a shelf at the top.} should i just go witt like a 400 hps and mayb a 250 mh??? for veg and final weeks of flowering. im getin a window ac fer da closet too.

Very true, enhanced spectrum, lower lumens but the same amount of heat.

Sunmaster dual is about 100 lumens / W.
Hortilux dual is about 110 lumens / W.
Compare this to a straight HPS : Phillips,solarmax ~ 145 lumens / W. or a straight MH at about 110 lumens / W.
So both the MH and Dual bulbs are 3/4 of the light output of a HPS for a 1000W bulb. So I'm sure a lot of energy is lost as heat, but the total heat will be the same. As far as your ac, for a 1000 W bulb, 3500 BTUs is your absolute minimum, but I would go with twice that just to be safe.
My conclusion would be that this would only be a viable replacement of a MH during veg. ( downside being extra cost at an unknown benefit ) My experience has shown that total light is more important than spectrum during flowering, so I would always use a straight HPS for flowering.

This is a good thread :

Assuming that you want only one grow space for all phases, I might go with a single 600w HPS digital/dimmable for all phases with CFLs for the smallest plants. <- notice my bias towards my current setup.. 8-)

i am using the dual arc hortilux on my second grow ,and it seems to me that the buds are fatter than the first grow i did with the 1000 watt hps ,,think i will continue to use it on my next grow

yeah i need to pick up one of the dual arch hortilux bulbs. the added blue is sopose to help the trich production durring flowering.

yea it kills the plant xtremely slowly and then bulds resin (tryks) to protect itself! that y im tryin to get 1 and oh yea a water cooled tube, r those efficeint i kno ill need a chiller
