drying question

Would the fastest way to dry my harvest be to just let each stem hang upside down? If so, what kind of conditions will help to quicken this process (temp, humidity, light)?

Get a dehumidifier, or one of those food driers(essentially the same thing as a dehumidifier).

The weed will taste quite green, though. And will be fairly harsh.

how long did it take to grow? 4 or 5 months. Why rush the cure? thats where you get all the taste from. Don't get me wrong I sample threw the cure but it tastes like shit.

Drying is as important as growing.
Don't rush it.
Try to keep your humidity at like 50%.
Also keep a very small amount of circulating air,
a very small fan pointed away from them will do great.
It should take you about a week to dry and up to a few months to properly cure.
Keep them in a dark place the whole dry.

I'm only talking about the drying phase, not curing. What are the best temps to keep when drying? And when you say keep them in a dark place the whole time, do you mean pitch black? Or can there be some light leaking in?

70-75 and 35-45% should take about 3 days to hang dry. a week in jars burping at least daily. when the twigs snap seal the jar for another 3 weeks remove and bake.

I would keep temps in mid 70's like stumps said.
If you put them into jars early they are going to need alot of "burping"
I would say 5 days would be minimal hang time.
And yes I would keep it dark, I have the luxury of using a walk-in closet and it works great for me!

hang time will very. I like the smaller twigs to snap and the larger to bend/brake before I start the jars

nice, thanks for the help guys. how long should i be "burping" for daily? And when you say to wait for twigs to snap, I thought that's what you looked for to determine that they are done drying?

when you go to the jars the buds will get wet again. If I get moisture in the jar I will let them sit out in the air for a day or till the're dry to the touch. I allways go for dry to the touch. when the twigs start to snap again I seal the jar and set it in a dark semi cool place for about 3 weeks.

ok, so if there isn't any moisture building up when the jar is closed, how often should I be burping them and for how long?

I open a few times a day for an hour or so. At that point I just want the twigs to snap so I can get them closed up. my last took about a week to start snapping.
