Drying in stealth

I am in week 7 of my first grow and as I prepare for the dry/cure I have some hose guests that are coming in from out of the country. I have a stealth setup with a homemade carbon filter. I was just going to chop and turn off the lights and leave the fan running for airflow (at a lower speed than I do with lights on). Will the smell be more, less or the same as when it is growing?

I can deal with the same or less, but I am concerned that if it is much more, it may overwhelm my carbon filter. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks, I don't think waiting will be an option since that would put it into the 12th week and I am already seeing 50-60% cloudy trichomes. The last thing I want to do is screw this up now after what will be nearly 4 months. My Carbon filter probably wont be able to cut it, I have a buddy I can take the plants to his house if need be.

Yeah usually strain dependent, but for the most part in my experience they'll reek during the dry (more & more every day). plus for the most part you wont really want a fan on your plants as you dry unless the situation is strange. air movement is good, but if it's direct it can speed it up so you get an improper dry. if you really trust that friend, that might be the best option. good luck man bongsmilie

on an unrelated note, you're seeing 60% cloudy trichs 7 weeks into your grow? are they autos/ did you mean week 7 of flower? that threw me lol

Get a shitload of Plug-in room deoderizers and place them thru the house... use a 'food' type smell- it covers better than the others... especially Cinnimon etc...
tell them the toilet overflowed and the house reeked... Or if you have pets-- someone had an accident! ;)

A quart of ONA gel and your filter should do it. I have a perpetual grow, a small apartment, and no one has ever smelled anything. Leave windows open if that's an option. I'm on the third floor so I leave them open often. I don't have any plugins, candles, etc.

Sorry, 7 weeks into flowering, from a clone and 5 weeks of Veg after I got it (was about a 4" clone).

Houseguests staying for a week, if it kills my carbon filter, I will just take it over to a friends. It is just a single plant so transporting will be easy enough. Thinking about it, since I will not be generating heat, I should be able to turn the fan down pretty low to just keep steady airflow, may give the carbon filter more time to catch up.

I have ona gel in the box already, just smells like laundry. Hopefully that will work. I was planning on my ventilation fan to pull in fresh air and keep temps good. Also planned on leaving one of the circulation fans going, but it would not blow directly on the plant.

i wouldnt worry too much.. giving to a friend hell nah, just add a few computer fans taped onto odor eater gels/ other smaller diy carbon filters..

Make an extra carbon filter/ONA deodorizer bucket to put near the drying area as a backup if the main carbon filter is overwhelmed.

To that video, I would add a layer of mesh above the ONA with 2-3" of activated carbon, so the air is first going through carbon filtration, then ONA to mask any leftover smells.
