I know you felt like someone kicked you right in the gonads!No prob. There's an excellent sticky in the harvest and cure forum. At least i think thats the right name for the forum..kind of blistered right now. Found a hermie in the middle of my beautiful big boobied ladies. Hey guys, I know it's an old one but this is one of the top google results so wanted to write in how I do the drying thing.
Well, as all you mentioned above it's all about the timing. If you have the time and looking for a smoother taste then you should go with cooler enviroment with almost no circulation and hang it as one piece without trimming the fan leaves. You gonna have the fluffiest buds ever with all the trichomes preserved and no plant like earthy tastes. But also you can say 'fuck it either way I'm not the one who gonna smoke this shit and I don't care' then trim it into pieces, crop out all the leaves even the sugar leaves, hang all the pieces, put your fan to somewhere close and be checking. It shouldn't drop to less then 5 days so you might need to turn the fan off sometimes. Let me say that if you flushed the plant very enough you're not gonna end up with a horribly harsh smoke. Plus it's never a good idea to qucik dry a plant doesn't seem that potent
