Dry Ice Hash "when to"

I feel ya...the less "crisp" material would not break apart as easily...but will this added moisture make it harder for some trichomes to break off?(even though bud can be pre frozen before the run)
I'm not positive on that, maybe you should do a side by side with equal starting weight. The less weight you run the harder it will be to tell if you really made a difference. I'm pretty sure you want the bud/trim to be pretty damn dry and shake more gently and for a longer period of time. I found that how vigorously I shook made a big difference with the amount of plant matter that worked it's way through the screen. Screen size is important but I don't have a perfect number for you. I've only done DIH a few times and last one was with pure bud which had a decent amount of plant material in it because I used a bigger screen and shook the crap out of it just simply to yield the most...the added plant matter is kinda nice to get more of a full effect as if you were smoking keif covered nug. Afterwords I was able to do a QWIso run with the broken down bud since it was still really smelly and sticky.
The first time I tried DIH I had a friend visiting from SD where it's pretty damn dry haha, our eyes about popped out we were so shocked how simple and quick it was to yield that much!!! Seemingly instantly a table covered in more keif than I've ever had...x10.
My final answer is, keep it dry, shake more gently for longer period and if that doesn't work maybe try a smaller mesh/micron screen. I remember reading a comment once where A guy said he usually takes his DIH and soaks it in Isopropyl then strains through coffee filter and makes shatter, but my thought is if he wanted to do this in the first place he would be better off using the entire plant to QWIso because I normally QWIso material afterwords anyways.

Well I couldn`t wait. Been drying for a day & a half. Just got done. Really wasnt going for quantity but quality. Only pucked one & saved the rest as keef. Keef looks pee white & hash looks black & green with a yellow center. Is it good? Hold on & i`ll tell you. ,,,,,,,,,,,, YEP it`s good !!! Well I think all & all you might definatly get more dry but I think a day & a half was awesome as far as quality. I`ll get a pic in tomorrow. you gotta see how pure this keef looks. (Yep, I`ll be able to roll a J soon) lol
BTW I used a 220. Only other bags I have are 120 90 45 I think & a 20. Was gonna try the 120 but the matter wasnt dry anyway & thought it would be even harder to get through. But I do wanna try the 120 next time on a small batch. Like I said I like quality since its just me so Im thinking it would be less trash. I was wanting to ask you something,,, (damn this hash),,, O yea, not hip to all these resines & ways to do it & call me stupid if need be but what is QWIso & what is shatter & how do you make that? It sounds awesome already !!!
