Dry Ice Extraction From Trim

So i just showed a fellow grower buddy of mine the wonders of my bubble bags, he runs a 2k room and gets far more trim then i ever could. Only bad part is he wants 1/2 and my buddy and i split the cost of the bags so i have to split the remaining half with him so i only end up with 25% of the yeild.

But thats all beside the point, Last night as i was showing him the process he said well why can't we just throw dry ice in there?? I'm sure it would drop the temp and as far as i know it's just solid co2 right? So i told him i don't know, Anyone see a reason that this would be bad, he has offered to get it for our next run and i'm tempted to try it. I mix it in a bucket without the bags using a drill and a paint mixer wand then i just dump the slush into another bucket with the bags in themgive it a quick stir by hand and let it sit 1/2 hour, so i can't see how it would hurt the bags and thats my main concern.

If anyone has any input i would love to hear it.

Thanks

colder water doesn't give you any more. once you reach a certain level of coldness that's all there is. as long as you are using ice water you should be fine. i guess. i don't understand the desired outcome.

I completely agree, my plan is to mix it in a much larger tub with the ice and a paint mixer wand, then let it settle, skim all the plant scraps off the top and then dump the rest through the bubble bags.

Hopefully that will allow me to run more in my 5 gallon kit, and it should keep everything that could hurt them away from my beloved bags. I don't even like to mix it in the bags, I do it in a seperate bucket then transfer to the bags and give it a very gentle mix with a wooden spoon and let em sit

ok this may sound Crazy but if you use dry ice you will carbonate the water.
this will cause bubbles to form on the bottom and rise up this can cause the crystals to rise with it. lowering your yield big time.
i would Stay clear of Dry ice.

the idea is to mix it up and let it rest. carbonating the water is not gonna let it do it's job too well.

Dry ice does not actually cool water that well it mostly just boils away in the water. It would probably just be a waste of money on dry ice when you can get the same results with regular ice.

hey, can someone start at the beginning for me here? Ignorant as to what bubble bags are...
bubble bag is a method of extracting hash from a plant by using ice water.
what you are basically doing is knocking the crystals off the plant and flushing it away.
in this case away is into a series of silk screens of Ever smaller sizes until you end up with high grade hash.
hash not being water soluble simply gets stuck in the screens and collects to be gathered

i use trimmings Why waste them.

idk if the bubblehash maker has a air tight lid but when you put dry ice in a bottle with water and put the cap on....shit blows up
