That would be a big NO !!

I had slugs eat a 3 foot clone this year, in one night. I went out, and they left me with a stick in the ground....
There's some steps you can take. copper works well, but it's too late for me.. most of my plants are in the 4-6 foot range, and the slugs are still all over them. It sucks big time. I've had a dozen slugs on one plant at times.

I just fuck 'em up when i go out, with an ammonia and water mix, and hope for the best.

my next step, is to get my hands on a shit load of copper sheeting ( the type used to make rain gutters) and go that route.

I found that the bait, and pellet style poisons, just attract more slugs.

I just figure, that as the slugs eat the lower growth, it shoots the growth hormones to the tips, and that's the only way i can justify feeling ok with it.

Damn, and i recently bought these pellets called "Slug Magic" the active ingredient is iron phosphate. I'll be going back soon.

so that mix, its 1 part ammonia to 6 parts water. How is it applied? sprayed on to the plants? And you said something about how that adds nitrogen. the NH3 breaks down I'm assuming?

EDIT: Also, since we are both up north, do you get budworms during flowering? I don't know if that is something we have to worry about up here.

Keep it up

yeah, i've used the slug magic, but with all the rain we've had up here, i washes away pretty quick.
as far as the ratio on the ammonia, yes,
1 part ammonia, and 6 parts water.
I try not to spray it on the leaves too much, for obvious reasons, as how to apply, if you notice the pressure sprayer in the pics, i just put it in there, and turn the nozzle to jet. I shoot every slug I see, and a bit on the ground in case i missed some, I make two rounds just to be sure.. I keep it to a minimum.
I read that it is an organic mix except for the lack of 1 element. I'm not a chemist, so i won't try to sound like one.
but I've seen no burn , or negative effect to my plants. But the slugs desolve in about 3 min.

this is my first outdoor grow up north here, so I'm not sure of the bud worms.
I hope not, as my main conceren is going to be mold.
Iv'e used neem, but with the rain..... i'm not sure if that stuff hangs on to the plants, or just washes away with the rain.....

if you want, pm me as to your state...

peace, and thanks for droppin' by.

I did add hydrated lime to the local of the lsd, right after the melt.
although I went with pro mix bx, due to the lime that's in it.. It seems to do the trick.

with the pure gold, I dug out the rocks, and added 4 five gallon buckets worth of pro mix. no troubles yet.

i ph'd the standing water, and it was at 4.5..... because of the spruce, and cedar i'm guessing.

I visited the site today, and all looks well.
the girls in the containers were a bit droopy, and dry so I gave 'em a drink, and some nutes. Other than that they did'nt look much different except that they're all showing flowers. Oh, and I broke an ata tundru in half trying to tie her over..... I thought that was a shorter strain, but one is getting pretty big.. I mended it, and we'll see.... I planted 4 of 'em....they have yet to show sex.

It's breakin' down as we speak !
I hav'nt thrown any vegatable matter or coffee grounds away for about 2 years. I also crumble all the eggshells, and to boot, I throw the weeds from the garden in there. It should be pretty kick-ass next year. I really should get the potatoes that are growing in there out !

Thanks for the positive input.

I had a plant taken. it was growing in the back of my garden. a barney's lsd.
it was pulled , and some of the strings holding her down were on the outside of the garden along with some roots.
I looked in the compost pile to see if the old lady had gotten pissed.. and took it out on my plant.
I couldn't find any footprints, or any leaves. the chicken wire fence was bowed in like some ? had leaned in
and grabbed her. it's fucked.
