I'm planing on buying a dr150 soon and had a few questions.

I'm planning on using a 1000w cool tube will that be good coverage for a 5x5 area? Also should I be using a hood or no hood?

With a 1000w light how much fan power do I require?

I like 1kw hps fir a 4x4 area. Can easily do a 5x5 with a good reflector with a good amount of "spread"
A good bat wing on your cool tube or one of those over sized hoods "magnums, raptors,xxl"
6" can fan would be best depends on how you run your exhaust.
easy would be carbon filter to hood to fan to exhaust out just make shure your not exhausting into your room
ambient temps would rise. exhaust out a window or into attic. Get a fan speed control to dial in temps.

I have a 600 in a 3x3 tent. The bulb is in a 6" magnum.

Definitely go with a cool tube, the magnums are hard to cool in a tent and they take up allot of room.
A good cooltube that is glass all around with a batwing reflector on top is your best bet.

Sweet. I found a cool tube with the bat wing reflector cheaper than one with out! Thanks for the tip on the xxL I was looking into those but will think twice now.

I have a 600w in a 1m2 tent with a 6inch temp controlled fan haven't got my cool tube yet but ill be getting it in a few weeks
