Ive seen this fixture posted here quite often. I have never seen a journal or write up the idea is cool though. My issue with it is if i am going to buy an hps i know i can get a digital 600w for 200 bucks from htg. take the other 200 in savings and put it towards a tent or other gear.

he is only offering you a 70w hps and a claimed 230w led (who knows if its actual draw).

IF you want both led and hps buy a blackstar240 for 266 from gotham and a 250w hps and get a total draw of around 385w. kicking that things ass for the same price lol. His price has come down, pretty sure I remember this being around 600 a few months ago on ebay. It looks well built but i would not buy it as it brings nothing functional to the table.

I have a shop in Astoria, Oregon and a customer recently bought the 450w fixture from Dr. Growrite. He brought it in to show me because I was curious and possibly wanted to stock them (I now have an account with the Dr.). I hung it 4' above my counter and put a light meter under it. The reading was the same at 4' as a Eye Hort Big Blue 1000w MH from a foot away! I was still skeptical but he came in yesterday and said he has a room full of "beer can" buds. Its drying so I havent tried the green yet but yield seems in line! He has it on a mover though, that may play a factor. But for what I've seen and heard these are the real deal! Oh, one last bit of info... His montly power bill for his whole room (the 450w led, a smaller 300w led UFO, a dehumidifier, blower and circulation fan) is $50!!!!!

i bought 2 of them one journal in progress and one finished. for the price they deliver a pretty good yield i have the makers contact info, his name is cliff, he is actually pretty easy to deal with. i use a 300w model connected to a 450w model in a 5x5 tent. i they seem pretty durable too!. my tent pole came apart and dropped a light into my plants at free fall from almost 5' up! i wouldn't recommend doing this but the light did not break or get damaged! my harvest was 5 oz off 9 way over crowded plants and after the fallen light fell and obliterated one of them in flowering (just short of killing it) and damaged other plants. if i had done a better job lollipopping and and not over crowded them i think i would have had a 1/2 lb but that's just a guess. take a look at my journal and you will see for sure what these lights are capable of. my intention this grow is to pair the 450w model with a 600w hps and move the 300w model into mother room for 2 mothers cheers.
