Dr. Grinspoon - Any thoughts on this strain??

ive seen grinspoon grown, it is a really beautiful if you have the time and space to dedicate to one very unique plant. i guess its more like an artisan strain since its impractical in many ways but its also uncommon so you might wanna grow it anyways. ive smoked it as well, i found it tasted very different, spicy kinda..the high was great but the taste wasnt like anything ive had before. if i had a big space with enough room to have one plant growing not so much for production, but for its looks and to add variety, id grow grinspoon.

i would consider growing it, given that this was a re-named reeferman strain…

but alas, only fems and i like to make my own beans….

I agree, I too have seen my neighbor spend 14 weeks on it.
I run a perpetual and I am currently running a couple MNS Angel's Breath.
I have 12 flowering total, but most are hybrids.
I usually run a couple slow sativas for personal smoke and for fun.
If you are relying on an "artisan/connoisseurs' strain, as your primary inventory, it may cost you in yield and time.
If you have a perpetual, multi strain, you can keep a couple slower plants around, and work a mix of speedy indicas and hybrids, to keep the flow coming.
I am deffinetly dropping Dr Grinspoon in the future.
It is listed as one of the top ten strongest strains in a couple publications.

"That maybe so but the pictures used to advertise it are of the 'Quaze' cutting which is of unknown origins. The story that was told when it was first found was that some old highland Mexican seeds were started and the only plant they got was this Quaze. The Quaze appeared over a year before Barney's released Dr Grinspoon and was available in several coffeeshops. The Quaze isn't anything special and is hermaphroditic, the fact it was popular and still is in the coffeeshops just shows what a lack of sativas there is in that scene, people raved about how uplifting it's high was and I can see how they would think that if they were used to Power Plant and the other shop regulars. I know the original growers of the Quaze and they sent me some when they first had it and I thought from the taste and high it was very similar to the Oaxacans I've grown and smoked. Maybe Barney's just used the pic of Quaze and the seeds they are selling as Grinspoon are not related to the Quaze cut, who knows with Derry."

BF is nothing but a rip-off. No chance I would mess with their sativa. I will stick to Ace, Cannabiogen, and World of Seeds for my landrace type sativas.
Have you had good luck with WOS? Some of my first purchase was WOS land race types and had terrible germination and runt plants. May have been growers error but I did love my freebie AKS, which isn't a true land race but I did love it

I have only grown LSD from BF. While it turned out okay and the smell was definitely interesting, I gotta agree with both of you. Not sure why someone would waste the time, energy, and money on below average. So much better product out there to grow and smoke.

I have found germing landrace seeds in 85+ temps has the best chances of success. I have gone so far as to leave them outside during the summer on 100+ degree days to help pop some stubborn sativa seeds and it worked.

From World of Seeds I have grown Afghan Kush (don't like the taste/smell of Afghan bud but buzz was really good), Wild Thailand ( smooth sativa smoke, not bad but not so great as to warrant the difficulty growing), Ketama (wood smell that I didn't like), and I have a South African Kwazulu around 7wks in flower as we speak.

Hi greenghost nobody knows the crossing from the Doktor .
But I know it can handle extreme cold temperatures for marihuana especially in flowering time .
Best regards
