Howdy freeflow, I've spent a few years in E Wash myself. When I returned from Vietnam in 1970, I discharged out of Ft Lewis. I was having adjustment issues and didn't fit back into society well. I inherited enough money from my grandparents to buy some timbered land up on the Canadian border, above Curlew lake, Ferry County. 5 miles of 4x4 road to get there. I built a log cabin. Built everything by hand, no electricity. Cut the logs from the land. Lifted everything with block&Tackle, no power equipment, you can see the rigging in the pictures. But it was to harsh a life for my wife. So we moved to Seattle in the late 70's, so she could attend UW. I worked at Boeing for 9 years. Here's a few pics of the cabin.
Maxsea fertilizer has a veg & bloom. I use them both @1tbs per gl. The only thing I do differently with my soil is all winter I throw my chicken's poop on top, & I'll mix it in this spring.
As much space as you can get between plants the better, mine are actually too close. 10' would be perfect. Good luck.
