double room setup for 16-24 plants

Looking for input on the following setup: 2x1000 watt cool tubes w/solarmax bulbs with air ventilation. 10x10 Flower room for 16-24 plants using 8pack power grower setups. Room will be Panda Film built around a PVC frame. Veg room will be same except just using a 6ft T5 unit in a 6x10 room for one 8 pack power grower setup and a power cloner for the little girls. This is in a basement where its about 68-72 degrees year round and will be vented with a 475 cfm duct fan connected to a carbon filter and the ducting for lights.

Any helpful comments or thoughts would be appreciated especially on construction of the rooms and if the size of the rooms are adequate. Thanks in advance

id advise to use at least 2x3 for the framing. i kinda doubt the pvc will suppport the weight safely of the equipment that needs to be hung from it, cant realy use gussets to brace on angles with it i dont think. makes for a rocky room.

I was thinking of attaching the lights to the 2x8 on the ceiling and just running the cords through the panda film in order to avoid having any weight on the pvc frame. The frame i more for the structure of the panda film. But you raise a good question because I need figure out how to be able to raise and lower the lights/ducting and while keeping it all relatively air tight.

well if you where going to mount right to the cieling then just use length of small chain and a yo-yo`s to raise n lower them

Not enough light. To cover that much space, you'll need another 1000 or two. I'd go with 600's, and have more of them. I also agree on the whole pvc frame thing. That sounds sketchy to me. I'd just frame it out with studs, and drywall it. You will have so much electrical, and dehumidifiers, and inline fans, and carbon scrubbers, and all that stuff. You will need a much more stable setup. JMO.

ya id agree on the more of 600 also. better light usage and more foot print. my room is all 2x3 framed also but just panda for now. no drywall. i can do chin ups on it at 210 pounds. no rockin back n forth.
also is good idea to be able to mount a piece of board to a wall in the room for electrical and anything like meters for the room to mount on

my thing is i wanna keep ducting for lighting simple as possible to have good airflow. Would it be wise to make my room smaller like 8x8 with 2 1000 watt cool tubes instaed of 10x10. That would be 34 or so lumens per square foot instead of 20.

If i leave the room 10x10 how many 600 watt lamps should i use?

The power growers wont take up the entire room i wanted some room for moving around etc.

All the electrical will be outside the rooms aswell.

in a 10 x 10 id run about 8 1k lights, at least. and why the tubes, you already own them. seems a small set up to house a 1k bolb is all. would be better to run a sealed hpood for wider footprints also. in tubes most donbt have a reflector and loose all the upper side of the bulbs light power. some do have a reflector but is so small its a joke realy for a big light.
my room right now is 6x9 and was running 2 x 1k. now its 2 x 600 and is going a bit bigger for walking around room as well and will run 4 to 6 x 600. the 2 x 1k didnt fill the 6x9 all the way for a foot print

Hmm now you got me thinking of going to 4x600 watt daystar/ac units and bringing my room size down to 8x8 and growing in about a 6x6 area of the room.

Im gonna go research bunch on reflectors aswell as you made a very obvious and valuable point hehe. THANKS!

my hoods are the sun mavericks super wide. decnt hoods and cheep as hell. i paid 100 buck for the 6 inch ones, cords glass and mogul inc. 8 inch is 10 or 20 buck more. they are smaller than the last one i had but from the design on them i actualy have a bigger foot print. 600 can get closer to tops than 1k and so better light useage. and cooler, cheeper.
