double bucket concept

basically all the concept is ...is using two buckets at the same time to grow one plant...the veg bucket is made out of two parts....when it’s time to transplant u take off the bottom part and place the whole bucket into the flowering bucket....that’s about it I’ll let you know who it works...it will be a side grow on my upcoming journal.

you could do this but why? what is the advantage? you will still get N run off from your top bucket into your flower bucket defeating the purpose. correct? do you plan on using nutes? maybe i am "double fucked up" also because this simple idea is making my brain hurt. i suggest you grow it, document it and send me some for "research purposes".

True, but most of the nutes in the Veg soil should be gone by the time he transfers it. I say try it out and let us know.

That’s what I’m thinking....and oh yea I’m starting pretty soon here...about a month to go on my harvest...I have no room at the moment...I got my pails last nit

umm some of the perks are more soil for the roots to grow (more space)...more soil on the bottom to enchorage roots to grow down...since the veg bucket is in the flower bucket and the only way for the roots to grow is down and then out...if you were to just transplant like normal the roots grow out and down at the same time...so I’m thinking it will also utilize a lot more space....we will see.

seems like a waste. if you have room for a larger container then why not start off with it rather than stressing the plant with an unnecessary transplant.

no matter the growing media or irrigation technique i have always made every effort to avoid transplanting, especially right before flowering. my clones go straight into the container that they will eventually be harvested from. but that's just me.....

do you have a soil recipe that you are completely committed to or have used eextensively? are you avoiding chemical nutes for flavor or other reasons? are you testing your soil for nutrient levels?

the reason i asked if you were using liquid nutes is because they will give you more precise control over a plants health as opposed to ammending your soil which can be an indeterminate process that is harder to correct.

i have no doubt you could grow this way but i think that what we all strive for is control and efficiency in our grows. eliminating assumptions and unknown variables can only help the final yield.:weed:

i am not trying to take the wind out of your sails or deter you from doing it, i am just trying to make sense of it, that's all. i spend a lot of time trying to make sense out things these days it seems.

i wish you the best with your grow however you choose to approach it but definitely keep us all posted.

peace.

but im not taking it out of a pot and putting into another pot...i just taking the pot itself with the bottom cut out and placing it into the flower pot...im thinking that it wouldent stress it out at all... and i know ur not being negitive...but i never seen it dont...and who know this might turn out to be the best method ever...:weed:... we will see like i said this is going to be a side grow...just to see what happends...it be honest i dont think there will be much of a change but u never know.

and yes i use my own soil...i kinda keep what i use a secret ...its been it are family for 3 gen im not the one thats going to give it up...its works tho....and for the double bucket concept no nuts will be used...its going to use what it has for veg then it will use what it has for flower. just water will be givin to this plant becuase i want to see what it does with no outside help...if it does better then we will go from there with adding things to it...one step at a time is the best way to go in this case....thats what i think. sorry for the spelling...at work dsont have that much time.

ok, now i understand. i am all for innovative approaches within reason and this makes sense to me now. if you were using nutes and bagged soil then it would be a wasted effort i think.

so is your soil mixture and amendments all organic?

it would be great if you had two clones and did a side by side comparison between a single bucket approach and your double bucket concept.

good luck and let me know if you start a grow journal for this project.

peace.

organic....I have a lot going right now....I got a walk in closet it for my soils... witch I have southern OG Kush, charismas Kush, and super skunk...they seem to like growing with each other....then in my spare bedroom I got two closets for my hydro set-up witch I run year long...(when on closet is in veg the other is in flower) now I’m currently saving up to buy a personal wind-mill and solar panels because I’m building a all new grow space in my basement it’s going to run about 4000watts so I gatta take my time and do it right so it won’t be a waste to build....it’s going to be a lot bigger than I ever gone before....so I’m going to have a lot of space to play with...and I don’t know about you guys but I don’t smoke bud like that...I would be lying if I said I grew weed and don’t smoke it...cuz that just doesn’t work. But I the way I smoke is I cut the very top of the tops and save it for myself and everything else go to paying customers. now we’re I am if u don’t smoke weed u prolly don’t live here lol...and I’m the guy to get the good (seedless) around here but I’m rambling now so I def. will keep this page updated cuz its not long now till I have space to start some new stuff.

sry bout double post.

but I was thinking the same...my buddy has some captain killer (as he calls it) but It looks "killer" and he letting go of some clones for only 20 bucks so to add to the concept I will be using an all new strain. I shouldn’t have to much problem doing a new strain cuz all I know how my buddy grows it and I’ve seen this shit grow from seed to flower...I still don’t have a camra I’m going crazy...I wanna show off my shit LOL

This is my style. Can veg more plants and take your pick of the best to flower.
The x-planting gives little if no stress to the plant; It just sees more room below.

(I use grow bags for veg, then cut the bottoms off and place on top of 4 gal buckets)

Haven't had any probs yet.

haha. i do the same thing but because i lack the quantity that you have, i am a little less picky about what i keep. sounds like you are pretty busy though and about to be even busier.

yea I work in the am...by time I get out all the lights are on so I spend my time at home doing my hobby...tending to my babies...I’m a new hydro grower I just started to dig my paws in to that I’m kind of like "wow" when I come to how many thing u can do to this plant....and I guess I have OCD when it comes to trying new things...I never ever in my life did the same thing everyone else is doing and that’s what it feels like...I won’t stop with my organic soil in a bucket lol...that’s the way it’s been done for years and we will see how far my hydro career go's...not a big fan but its fast to grow and that’s what I need lol. but to get back to being busy...right now I am...end of the grow making sure everything’s good...plus a heat wave is going by have some temp probs. at the moment...one of my bag seed plants I got out of some chronic I got turned out to be a male...so...he got the hack today...he's drying out now waiting to be shaken to harvest the keff then added to the pile for bubble hash...witch I make my own hash rolling paper's :)...all to good use....never a waste.

p.s. ...to make hash rolling papers u must know to make bubble hash...once u know how to do that...u take the hash u make and dissolve in a little water (A LITTEL WATER)...take a small brush (i use a EYE LINER bush) and paint the liquid hash on as many ZIGZAG or whatever your preference paper is (or even a blunt paper). (The more coats you do the better the paper gets BUT it gets harder to roll every coat u paint.) ...
