Things are moving right along with this grow so far. Have you thought about how you will space and/or group them outside? I heard the best layout is random little clusters here and there.

I'm thinking of filling a cup with nuted regimen and cutting the bottom out, then watering hard. That way, I'll soak the old, tired soil a bit with nutes, can dig a faster, messier hole, have support pushing it in and remove easy as hell. Did I mention that I'm meticulous? :) I'll probably also do some ryder. :)

Your west coastedness seems to catch me before bed all too often, man. I'm slippin' off. Nite.

Day 5 / May 14 / 2009 - Sprouts

So status update the germination process is now complete and im looking at 13 healthy sprouts inside the humidity dome, a few of the sprouts already have a root or two coming out the bottom of the sack so ill give them a few more days like this and itll be off to a roomier container where they will build for the outdoors. But everything is looking great so far i can not complain one bit the veg box is working great! Here are a few pics...

Pic 1-2: Heres the kids with the dome on and off this morning as yo can tell the majority have sprouted and are looking great!

Pic 3: And the kids with the dome off this evening and BAM!!! all sprouts are out looking beautiful! i will raise them closer to the lights soon and go to 18/6 starting either tomorrow or saturday...

I'm kidding man, keep it up, awesome success rate with the sprouts, and quick too! Lets hope it carries over to sexing, with a high female rate! Good luck man... I'll rep you when the internet will let me...damn website! :hump:

Wow. That third picture threw me for a loop. WTF is going on there? did you plant two seeds by mistake or is that a genetically crazy effing plant.

oh nice, so you are in almost the same boat as me! start indoors, then go outdoors.

the thing with that is having to acclimate them into the harsh sun after being grown under CFL's ... its so hard and i tried to take them outside everyday when the sun was out, i didnt even bother with a growbox too much, just hung large CFL's over them.

i have a coffee plant as well, and that guy just got fried cuz of my negligence! shes still alive but looks like dreaded.

he i wish you good luck, and also think that im gonna try the organic ferts so i'll post pics of what i pick up from HD or lowes.. see ya soon.

I don't support it from personal experience growing ganja, but i support it from general botany and horticultural experience. The sun is MUCH more powerful than any CFL, MH or HPS bulb ever could be for that reason, aclimating i believe is highly recommended. Let them reach around a node or two under CFL, spend a week or two by a window, then in the shade of a tree for a bit, followed by more direct sun, and ultimately in the ground. Of course you'll have to watch your kids and make your own judgements based upon how your plants are reacting.

Also to consider is soil temperature, the planters they are in now, and whatever container prior to ground transplant, make sure the soil has time to be about the same temp in your container and the ground. Otherwise you could cause a little stress to the roots. Sort of like when you bring home a pet fish. (I might be making that bit up about soil temp shock, but it seems valid enough, and i swear i've heard it, haha)

Good luck to you, they are still looking strong. Any thought on fertilizers before transplanting?
