Dont want to grow a tree..

Hey guys,

Did a search for 'topping' addvice and way too many threads came up to review them all. Didnt really find the info I was looking for..

Here's my situation, I'm going to be growing 1-3 plants on my appartments glassed in ballcony and I really want to keep em' short (no more than 2 feet). I'd like them to blend in with my wifes common house plants and not be too noticable. Are there some trimming technecs I can use or do I just keep topping them when they get too tall?

Thx, PH

^^^ correct UB's method works great but remember that you will want to flip em to flower when they are about 10 inches tall to keep em at 2 feet

Topping will achieve your goal by slowing the vertical growth-rate and allowing the plants to bush-out, but if you FIM your plant you will see better results. https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/200413-fimming-m-blaze-complete-how.html

If you really want to keep a low-profile, you can't beat the LST (Low Stress Training) technique. https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/6834-how-lst-low-stress-training.html
I currently have four plants going, all fimmed and two LST. It's a little experiment :weed:

^Yeah, I'd say that LST would be your best option, if keeping them short is your main priority. You could also flip them to 12/12 early,(like 10") but they'll still end up taller than if your LST'd them.

if it wants to become a tree...let it! people need to learn to adapt to nature rather than adapting nature to us.

That FIM guide is really the kind of thing I had in mind for my plants..Thx, TheGreenBiologist!! +rep

The LST seems very interesting. I'll have more that one plant so, I might try that on the other one just to see how well I can do it....kinda' looks fun...lol

yeah LST is the way to go if you wanna keep it small and short and to blend in. And it works wonders, creating bunches of nodes everywhere. I highly recomend it, and its pretty fun to tie it down and you can bend it whatever way you want

I dissagree...I see it as the same as training my dog to sit, stay, lay down....esc. I kinda see my plants as my personal 'pets' to train as I see fit.
