Don't Take Pictures of Your stock with iPhone (RISK)

I don't know if it's news to others, but it's pretty valuable info IMHO

When you take photos with your iPhone and post them online the keep the matadata information such as Geotagging. Which is basically revealing the exact GPS location of where the pictures was taken. There are even sites online which show which idiot teens took pics of their twitter using a smartphone and didn't erase this data. Needless to say if you take pics of your plants and post them online without wiping this data you risk pointing the Feds right to your garden..

here's more info and a news video

I'm not sure how to delete this data though, so I just use a DSLR

dslr's embed that same data.

i use photoscape, free photo editing software, to remove that info.

I've disabled the exif settings on all my cameras, phone, etc long ago. Thanks for posting the good tip; everybody should know about this.

^ glad you found it useful!

thanks for the tips on how to remove the data, even after disabling the location services I still didn't trust it (you never know), at least now I can check to make sure

turn off location services on iphone and it wont have your location. most digital cameras dont have GPS so no way they will know where you are.

I subscribed to your YouTube channel. This is insanely amazing! Sort of makes me miss living in Cali.

Turn of your camera location settings on your iphone. Settings --> location services --> Camera (off)

Also, photoshop's "save for web" feature strips all data, or you can take a screen capture of the image.
